Does a good job lighting the tank
I have a 20 gallon and this light is more than sufficient. In fact some days I feel it to bright and use a static cling tint on the tank lid and still get plenty of light. I'd put pics but the tank is not optimal right now as I write this so no go. Maybe later.

Get much more than what you pay for! Mine lasted 5 years, 13 days!
I was setting up my first saltwater fish tank and with all the up-front purchases to get it running, I was out quite a bit of cash. I'd totally forgotten that I needed a refugium light and upon looking at the name-brand options, I just didn't have it in me to pay out top-dollar for it. I found this one which was considerably cheaper, and I figured I'd roll the dice on it. Fast forward 5 years and 13 days, and the thing finally gave up! It outlived my canopy LED and my powerheads (all high-end, Current "Loop" system stuff, I might add), and even outlived the refugium itself which is an eShopps model!! The refugium is actually still in use, but I had to glue an internal leak so it failed, but not terminally. Anyway, I'm buying it a second time because shelling out for one of these every 5 years I can absolutely manage.

good enough that I bought it again.
Lasted 2 years before it got dimmer. I'd guess 60% less than new. Now I have to admit I knocked it in my salt water fish tank around 10 times over the two years. So it can handle water. BUT the reason I knocked it in the tank is because the arm that holds it up is flimsy. It was two adjustable elbows that allow you to adjust the angle it shines. Those elbow have little plastic groves that keep it in place. So yes I touched the light but not that hard and the darn thing flopped in the water. A number of times. I bought a new one. Had it for many months now. The hinge is holding up better so it hasn't landing in the water (yet).

Excellent light output, well manufactured, giving me awesome chaeto growth
The sump for my reef tank is divided into thirds and I have chaeto algae in one section. I had been using an LED spotlight to light the chaeto but added this light. Wow, the chaeto growth is unbelievable and I will soon have to remove some of it for the first time in years. The thing is definitely waterproof as well - I had a pump malfunction and the entire unit ended up underwater, but absolutely no water got inside the housing and it looked like new after the water level went back down. The only drawback, as others have mentioned, is that the clamp won't work in a tank with a plastic rim. I have plexiglass separating the chaeto section from the rest of the sump, so I was able to clamp the light onto that, but this would not have worked on the plastic rim of the sump (which I built from a standard 20-gallon glass aquarium).

Great for my 6 gallon nano tank
The Wave-point Micro Sun 6" 8-watt is a great light for my old 6 gallon Eclipse nano tank. I'd give it 5 stars but it doesn't have an on/off switch on the light. The light's clamp is a full .5" wide so it easily slips over the black plastic rim of the tank. The 8-watts seem to be plenty for the fish and the plants. My rasboras were a little frightened at first, but they're getting used to all the light. :) My tank: Old Eclipse 6 gallon without the hood Tetra internal power filter (hoping to change to a sponge filter if my RCS ever berry) 7 Harlequin Rasbora 6 RCS Many trumpet snails 3 Marimo moss balls 2 Java fern Java moss Some kind of sword that I got from Petco

Very bright - clamping system sucks though
Very good very bright light for a refugium - the clamps don't hold very well could use 1000% improvement where the screws hold the hinges together. Also the main clamp needs to be wider to hold onto the tank - I had to break the clips off the front to get it to go over the rim.

Great light for aquarium plants!
I needed a light upgrade for my Marineland Contour 3-gallon aquarium (added water lettuce, was worried about the crypts and anubias in the tank not getting enough light), and this fit the bill perfectly. The clamp is sturdy on the plastic wall of the tank and fits nicely in the slot in the plastic lid. I found the set screws to be plenty sturdy, but I would be extra careful not to strip the threads. The light doesn't have an on/off switch, but I use a timer plug so it doesn't bother me. Ever since adding the light last week, my water lettuce has multiplied like crazy!

Won't clamp to a standard tank rim.
This little light is bright enough to grow macro algae in my refugium but it is not designed to work with a standard tank rim. It should work fine if your refugium does not have a standard lip and is rimless. My refugium is made from a 29 gallon rimmed tank and this will not mount on it unless I cut a piece of the rim away which at this point I'm unwilling to do. Otherwise it works just fine.
