It’s just a USB charger and cable

It works great, but…. You could just use an old phone charger as long as the amperage rating on the charger is the same or greater.

I had tried a phone charger for the fish tank lights and it didn't work. So, I'm not mad that I purchased this because it worked. Can't be angry when it works.

Better than using up batteries!

The light in my tank would not work with the batteries so i bought this and it’s awesome. Works perfect and will save you money on batteries! Lights do add heat to the tank so make sure you have a thermostat in the fish tank water so the water doesn’t overheat. That’s normal with lights, it’s not just this one. This is a great accessory for the light! A must have!
