Love my camera I love that it gives me a peace of mind when my kids are in their room

I love that the camera alerts me when there’s movement in the bedroom and that I can hear my kids and that I can talk through the camera I love that it alerts me when my son is moving and my kids I love that I can hear my son and check on him and it gives me peace of mind and my anxiety is a lot better time to be anxious or worried about my son and I could hear him and I love that he loves it and that I could do it detects movement and that I can just look at it every time to text movement. I just love it so much and now that I have this camera I’m going to use it all the time. I love that it connects with Wi-Fi and then I can make it private if I want to on my phone I just love everything about it especially now that I have a little one on the way and I just can’t wait so I just love it so glad I got this camera. Best decision I made.

Works with surveillance software

This camera produces excellent quality wide-angle view. If you are concerned about your privacy then after the initial installation the camera can be disconnected from Internet. You still will be able to connect to the camera from your home network with the Tapo app. When away from home the safest way to connect to the camera is VPN to your home network. I've tested this camera with Synology NAS surveillance station and iSpy software. 5* for the price and features. Updated: While these cameras can be disconnected from internet they still will try to send thousands of requests every day to rtsp-dcipc.tplinknbu.com 54,427 use1-relay-i-0f732261c5e6d6c05.dcipc.i.tplinknbu.com 14,187 use1-relay-i-0554430ee43417c54.dcipc.i.tplinknbu.com 14,177 n-devs-dcipc.tplinkcloud.com 3,480 The requests are not leaving the local network. Apparently nothing can be done about it. The 5* rating stays. Just be aware of it.

Easy view

I loved how easy it was to install on my phone through the app, it works really great, I don't like the alarm it has though, wish there were choices for the sound... I really like how clear the picture is! Easy and great view indeed!

Quality is good

Camera shows clear both day and night, two way audio is clear too. Great for my grandma who is assisted by a nurse at daytime when no one else is around

Puppy Spy

This was a great investment for a new puppy. I wanted to be able to keep an eye on him while at work. This camera has great video quality and sound. I would highly recommend if you need an extra eye at home.

Great purchase!

I was looking for an inexpensive cam for my hubby for when I'm not home. He has epilepsy. I have only used it for 24 hours now, But the install was super easy and fast. I plan to purchase more for other rooms in my house. I gave the night vision a medium rating cause I haven't had to use it yet. But I'm sure it's just fine. everything has been pretty awesome so far. The app is also super easy to use.

Would of been a great camera, except for one thing!

I wanted to buy an indoor camera that could be placed on the inside of a window panel and facing outside to watch packages. So I decided to buy this Tapo camera. It was my first time trying an indoor security camera...Setting this up was simple and all the app features are great. The picture quality is good and it catches all movements well. Night vision is good. However I ended up returning this camera because the camera would disappear from the app and I had to force stop the App on the phone to get the camera to show up again! I've tried restarting the camera, and reinstalling the App to no use...Not good if you need to see the alerts quickly! I still might want to try other TP-Link cameras in the future and just hope I won't have the same issue.

Poor quality, false movement alerts and constant drop outs.

This is a review for the C100 indoor Tapo camera. I would just like to point out that I am not a member of any review programme before I start. I purchased this camera mainly for the local SD storage which means that you don’t have to pay a subscription to save your recordings. This was about the only good thing about it. Along with this camera I also had 4 of the Tapo smart plugs. The whole lot have gone back for a refund. Over the 3 months of my Tapo ownership they dropped out constantly and kept saying that they were offline. By comparison my substantially older Kasa stuff has never dropped out once in over a year. The C100 camera also boasts full HD recording. Well I have viewed it on a full HD monitor and it’s grainy and poor quality so I’m sorry Tapo I don’t believe your 1080p claims. Moving on to the motion alerts they are almost pointless. I pointed the camera into a controlled room with absolutely nothing that could move. The camera alerted me with push notifications on my phone to say there was movement about every five minutes. It was so infuriating with my phone pinging constantly with false alerts that I turned it off. The camera itself is made of very cheap and nasty, brittle feeling plastic and has no quality to it at all. Lastly I would just like to say that it was very easy to set up. Would I recommend Tapo to anyone? No sorry, spend a few more pounds and buy Kasa or another well known brand. With Tapo you get what you pay for. I thought £20 for a camera was too good to be true, and it was.

It's good for the price

PSA: IF YOU ARE USING THE TP-LINK KASA APP, THIS WILL NOT BE COMPATIBLE AND YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE TP-LINK TAPO APP!!! Yes, it is stupid. Both are TP-LINK products but, because they are considered different product lines, they run on their own apps. I have smart outlet plugs that run on the KASA app and thought this C100 will run on it as well because it's by TP-LINK...NOPE. Now I have 2 TP-LINK apps on my phone. Annoying. The C100 is decent for the price, small and very easy to setup. The motion detection is VERY sensitive even at the lowest setting. I got notified from a shadow of a leaf fluttering in the wind that was in its field of view. I ended up turning off notifications because it got too much. The picture quality in HQ is ok. I can identify vehicles from 20ish ft away but, don't expect to read license plates. Night vision is very bright. You do get what you pay for.

Excelente camara y economica

Normalmente compraba las camaras AKASO, pero me sorprendio la calidad de estas. Escribo esta nota por si alguno presentó problemas o dificultades de instalación, a mi me pasó, compre dos camaras la primera se instaló sin problemas siguendo las indicaciones de la aplicación TAPO TP LINK, pero al querer instalar la segunda se instalaba pero solo en la red wifi de la camara o al desinstalarla ya no se podía instalar de nuevo. Mis reocmendaciones: 1. no actualizar el firmware (Al menos no antes de instalar) 2. reinicia la camara con el boton y/o sal de la aplicación de tu telefono y vuelve a entrar. E instala. 3. Asegurrate que una vez que haya detectado el wifi propio de la camara, la aplicación busque el wifi de tu casa. 4. cuando vayas a instalar una nueva camara DESCONECTA TODAS LAS DEMAS CAMARAS, asi solo detectará la camara que vas a instalar. Espero que te haya servido yo perdí como dos horas hasta que dicon la solución. Pero en lo general el proceso de instaación es muy sencillo.

Avoid - 2 Failed after a couple of months

On purchase, I was quite happy with these. motion detection, night vision, wifi, reasonable app. motion detection is fair, but its functionality is a bit limited, it was hard to tune. night vision was great in the right circumstances, though it is far too easy to find the IR led's on the unit over saturate things nearby, causing the camera to lose things in the distance...which is often what you want to capture. no way to turn off the LED's (but some tape holding silver foil does the trick if needed). about a month after purchase, one of them just stopped. it'd power on, then all the LED's would go off. no further response from the camera was possible. swapped power supply, SD card, factory reset, contacted TP Link support. no joy. I had two, so figured it was a bad unit and returned it. fast forward a few weeks, and now the second one is dead too with the same symptoms. i fear these are a result of a rush to market, before sufficient testing. I've other TP Link products which are fine, but these...junk.
