Nice squeezable balls, but pricey
These Franklin starter tennis balls are nice, but rather pricey for a pack of 3 at a price point of $4/ball. That's the only reason I removed a star. The balls themselves seem to be well made. We got them for the dogs, both of which love tennis balls, and they have held up great so far. I think they may like these more than the regular balls we get them since they are squeezable, but at this price point they can deal with the harder balls if/when they wear these out. If you are looking for starter tennis balls, I would suggest looking around for a better deal or get these if they are on sale.

Squishy balls
If you like your balls squishy then these are the ones for you. They are nice if you prefer softer balls for massage. They probably wouldn't hurt as much if you got hit with one. Just make you not to order them at full price.

Good pressureless tennis balls, but expensive
Pressureless tennis balls are great for training, and especially for use with a tennis ball machine. Their bounce is similar to a new pressurized tennis ball, but you don't have to worry about them losing pressure over time since they are pressureless. So the bounce will remain consistent and they can be used for a long time before they have to be replaced. The problem I have with these balls from Franklin Sports is the price. You're paying $4 per ball for a can of only 3 balls. You can buy pressureless balls from well-known brands like Gamma or Tourna in quantities of 20-60 balls for $1 or less per ball. So if you're looking for pressureless tennis balls, that is how I would suggest buying them (Especially if you have a tennis ball machine). But other than the price, these balls from Franklin Sports are fine. The quality is as good as the other brands I have used.

Great for kids just learning the game
If you have a kiddo (younger than 8) who is just picking up the game of tennis, these are a great teaching tennis ball. These balls have a WAY lower pressure than a standard ball and are also a bit bigger. This does a few things. First, the larger ball is easier to hit vs a smaller / standard ball (if you think that a small size difference doesn't make it easier to hit, just wait till you try these) which helps avoid frustration. Second, the lower pressure and lower bounce means the ball doesn't fly as far off the face of racquet, allowing little kids to focus on ball control and where they're hitting the ball vs trying to take a lot off the shot to prevent it from going out. Third, these balls are designed for durability with a heavier duty construction and felt covering, meaning they'll last (because they're pressureless, you don't have to worry about them "going flat" as it were) quite a few seasons. So all in all, if you're teaching a little kid how to play tennis and want them to be able to focus on the basics vs the ball flying everywhere (or misses), these are a great tool to help with that. And at a very reasonable price to boot. Give them a try today!

Great Way to Start A Lifetime of Love for Tennis
These low-bounce tennis balls are great for a number of ball-related sports, tennis notwithstanding. For beginners, they provide a larger target that is more visible and less intimidating than a bright yellow, high bouncing standard tennis ball. They are essentially pressureless, so they are very gentle on young arms, whether hitting them with a racquet or simply using them for a game of toss and catch. We use them regularly for the kids to get used to making contact, but they are great for bedroom basketball or any number of indoor sports when the whether turns cold. They're light and very soft, so there's little concern of them breaking windows or causing serious damage. They are also far lower bouncing than the spongey versions of tennis training balls. They're great for volley training and provide a great way for a parent or adult to practice rallies with kids (since adults can find adequate challenge controlling a low balance ball with spin and trajectory). There's a reason these are so popular. They're great!

great!
I'm not a tennis player, I'm just a gal trying to get her GSD to be tired and stop harassing her kids lol! These were great, they fit right in the ball launcher thing that my pup loves and took much longer for her to munch through than off brand. A good purchase overall!

Good practice (only) balls that are helpful for beginners
First of all, just know that these are NOT meant for spirited, competitive play. They balls (as the description says) basically have no pressure in them, so they will not bounce high, nor will they play fast. They are really to allow someone to get the feel for getting the racket head on the ball consistently. They will help someone build confidence in their strokes before moving onto something that's gonna move faster and take a little more running to chase down. If that's what you are looking for, these will serve you well. That's pretty much all there is to it. They are regulation size (from what I can tell). As a side benefit, they are nice and grabbable for a dog's mouth. You may or may not want that to happen, but our dog was enjoying getting a hold of one. So for us, these are dual purposed...
