Pete The Cate educational book

Got the kit for my daughter for Christmas, she has used this several times since Christmas and is having lots of fun. It cause the kids to think about what the answer is and if they get the correct answer the get a green light that lights up on the pen and red one for the wrong answers. For the smaller kids that are just beginning to read you will need to read the phrases so that the sight words can be determined.

Great product, but problems with "pen"

I LOVE this product as my 5 year old is a HUGE Pete The Cat fan. I thought the product was overpriced for the amount of work you get with it (but, if more of these were made, i would pay the same price again, considering how much fun my son has playing/learning with it!). The real problem is that the "pen" seems to have poor contact with batteries, and it goes "dead" very frequently, causing major distress to my son. We tried re-adjusting batteries and replacing them, but nothing seems to cure the problem. I'm going to contact Amazon/seller about possibly replacing the pen. Even with these problems, i highly recommend this product - the joy of learning means EVERYTHING :)

BoOoOoOoing! A loved toy.

My 3 year old loves the pen, with or without the book. I can "magically" make it's eyes green with my ring (sterling) but my wife can't with her platinum ring. The book is smaller than expected but it's all good man.

Great learning tool!

I purchased this for my grandson. It had more bells and whistles than I expected. He enjoyed playing with it...which means he actually used it!! :)

Great books. Bad pen.

My kids both love Pete the Cat. I thought this would be a fun workbook for my five year old. The workbooks are really great and have a lot of good practice questions and things that make kids think. They are comprehensive on basic introductory subjects. The downside....the pen that supposed to be the fun and engaging part of this workbook for children doesn't work. Most of the time when you choose the right answer it tells you that it's the wrong answer and we found ourselves having to click down several times to get it to say it was right. Which honestly is a bummer. I'm not going to return it but I don't recommend this the price they're asking.

This is PART 2 of the set

My 4yo loves this set and Its a great way to spend some time with her. She completed the Preschool one in less than an hour so I immediately ordered this one. Im giving it a 3 star because it is not advertised right. This is actually the 2nd level of the set of 2 and it is advertised as the 1st. I had to order the "Kindergarten Rocks!" set to see if I get the 1st set so Im not too happy about that.

1-3 time use. After that...

5 & 6 year olds love them, but once they have them down there isnt a lot of reason to reuse them. Unless you wait a few weeks in between. And even then....
