Educational Insights Playfoam

I ordered this for my nephew, who is dealing with speech problems. That said, this arrived as described, and best of all, he loves using it. We like the shaping aspect of it, which makes it more interactive for him. We are pleased with it and recommend it.

Fun sensory play

I got this for my 4-year-old as a fun sensory activity to help him reinforce what he is learning at preschool. He seems to like it but I wish that there was a better option to store the playfoam. The container houses all 4 colors in the same tray with the same lid. I can only imagine it won't be long until the lid is broken and the playfoam dries out because he doesn't tell me he broke or lost the lid.

Great toy for a 4 year old

I had ordered this for my daughter, who is 4 years old. She has been working through her letters and numbers at school, so I thought that this might help her in the process. She really likes the sand / foam. She likes the way that it feels in her little hands. She has used it to shape letters, but she has also used it to build sand castles and other things. She has enjoyed playing with this sand more than her play-doh. The set is pretty well made and the box works well to hold it all together for storage. The only complaint is that the 3 colors in the end, become a mixed mess. It took my daughter about 2 weeks to arrive at the mixed mess of the 3 colors, but I am not sure how you can avoid that. The sand does glue together and it becomes quite difficult to try to separate it back apart. A very slight knock in my book. I hope that this helps.

Fun sensory play

Let's face it, your kids aren't going to sculpt The Thinker out of this stuff, they're going to squish it around and attempt to make some simple shapes like letters and numbers. Crude, rough shapes at best. It will be frustrating if the child is too old or mature, but for younger children or those more suited to simpler building/shaping tasks, this playfoam will provide many hours of engagement. The colors are green, red, blue, and poop, I mean... yellow...-ish?. They can be mixed (but not easily unmixed!) and each has a space in the storage tray. The cards are sturdy and easy to clean. We like that this stuff is non-toxic and made from plants. There are less fun ways to learn your ABCs and 123s!

Fun for our 18 month old

I really like that the intent of this foam is to learn. My son of course loves to squish it but I help him make letters and numbers, then we practice letter sounds.

Fun positive, but no individual containers for colors

This is a great idea for communicating and teaching a variety of things, letters and numbers. The one bit of feedback we have is to consider having separate containers for the colors as our three year old combined them immediately once I turned my back for a second. The foam has a very interesting texture, which he seemed to enjoy. It is also great for developing fine motor muscles and I had fun showing him how to shape letters from the foam and comparing them to the nice cards that were included. The words on the cards can help develop vocabulary and it was great seeing his face when he recognized the pictures and words. As a parent, this set was very enjoyable to introduce to my son, and we both enjoyed the combo of cool pictures and the touch of foam/ability to manipulate. It also comes with a tray which makes cleanup and storage very easy, which is a big plus.
