Great! but there’s a catch…
The mid-mount motor product is one big tradeoff but worth the cost. It’s loud, heavy and requires a cord and a hose that are constantly getting tangled. However, the results are amazing. It does a great job and is far less messy than traditional sanding with a sponge or pole. Plus, you won’t need to hit the gym after using it. Some things to consider: 1. Don’t lock the head in place, just let it float. I wish it had a little more range of motion but it’s workable. 2. Even the slowest speed is pretty fast, keep the dial down at speed setting 1. 3. Use the higher grit paper (120+) unless you mud like some kind of barbarian. Lower grit will remove material too quickly because the head spins so fast. 4. Keep the head pushed firmly to the work surface, if it’s vibrating or making a rhythmic noise, you’re doing it wrong. Push harder to engage the head against the drywall and it will slow itself down to the correct working speed. 5. When you take it off the wall, you will naturally want to flip it over and rest it like a weed whacker, don’t do this, keep the head up so all the dust doesn’t fall out until you’re ready to dump it. 6. The suction is passable, but not great (still way better than by hand). You will still need to wear a mask or set up a negative pressure system. Make sure your vacuum has good suction. 7. The switch is just an awful design. Familiarize yourself with it so you can shut it off quickly if needed. 8. The speed selector moves too freely and you will accidentally adjust it, be listening for the speed change knowing that the vacuum will also be loud making it hard to hear. Again, despite all this it’s a solid product suitable for weekend warriors and good purchase for a sizable project. Pros would want to pay more for something quieter, lighter and with better suction, but you can’t beat this for the price.

Good to have for any sanding work
Keep this in mind - I am a shorter person and have used the sander on 8 and 9 foot walls and ceilings. On 8 foot walls and ceilings the sander is about average. On 9 foot ceilings it is too short, not expandable, and gives your back, shoulders, and arms a workout. It cuts the work to less than 25% compared to hand sanding. With 240 grit paper it leaves a nice smooth finish and, using a 5 hp shop vac, leaves very little dust. Smaller vacuums have a difficult time keeping up. It does NOT have lights, which can be troublesome, but can be corrected using decent work lights. The mid-mounted motor helps quite a bit with weight distribution, but I found that the middle support bracket was in an awkward position. I do recommend this sander, especially at its price point. Compared to professional models at 10x the price the minor design imperfections can be overlooked. Sending pads are good quality and last as long as other more expensive items. I used the sander for several weeks before writing my review and can tell you it is a time saver. I recommend the product. Two thumbs up.

Works great!
This dual head sander is a real time-saver and produces great results. The only downfall is that the backing pad for the round head wears out quickly. The backing pad is made with soft rubber/foam around the sides as this is needed fir stability and control of the unit. I wasted 1 backing pad and 1 sheet of sandpaper to sand 1 bathroom which did not require much sanding. Backing pads are about $11 on Amazon. To me it is worth $11 per room in order to use this. It is a great tool. I have been a General Contractor for more than 25 years and I am well satisfied with this sander and would buy it again. Also, I used the triangle head for all corners and that pad did not wear out. I only used 1 piece of sandpaper for each head and they are both still very good. The manufacturer needs to include a carry bag for this unit as it is difficult to find something to carry it in. The motor had sufficient power and speed. The slower speeds are all that you need. I used the big 3/4 horsepower shop vac with a drywall dust bag inside and it caught 99% of the dust. The only dust that I had was when you remove the head from the wall and it falls to the floor. I was in a small bathroom with the door closed and a towel under the door to seal the room. There was no dust to be seen in the air. The package arrived on time as it should. I love this tool as it makes my life much easier. The instructions are not very clear on changing the heads but I figured it out.

Works surprisingly well.
Wish I could feel the suction more but it does work. I hooked it up to a 5 gallon shop vac. Noticeable difference in airborne dust. It's sheetrock so you still find it across your house but 90% better. The round disc spins and the triangle vibrates. Quick change heads. Easy to use.

Big learning curve
This sander works well after some time. There is a big learning curve that comes with it. At first I was digging into the wall but after a while i got the hang of it. A bit heavy but definitely beats the alternative

Don’t Buy
Do not buy. I’m a professional tradesmen in all things drywall. The jobs I do require me to be as dustless as possible. I have used many tools to keep dust down and this is by far the worst. The issue is the suction at the head. because of the design it seem that there is not a big enough hole at the end that can get the dust. it helps stop the immediate airborne stuff until it gathers more dust which stays in the head. Pull that off wall or ceiling turn head and it falls out all over the place. I’ve used the portacable sander on a small vacuum and that’s enough suction for that tool. I used a big vacuum for this tool and it doesn’t change.

Get's the job done.
This unit rapidly flattens dried drywall mud, at a price that the average homeowner may be able to afford, but it is probably important to note that its engineering has been optimised for use on walls not at all for ceilings. For use on a wall, the on/off switch faces the user, but for ceiling use, the switch faces away from the user. The on/off switch is difficult to manipulate and especially so when facing away from the user. The triangular head is all but useless for ceiling work as you have to hold the complete sanding unit, parallel to the ceiling to be able to bring the head's sanding surface into position, and the vacuum hose, in any case gets in the way (see photos). In addition, the weight of the motor pulls the head end nearest the user, down, away from the ceiling (see photos) this is a PITA. When used on a wall, the head hangs as shown in the photos and is quite useable. This unit its self, does not have suction, it requires a vacuum attached to it. I put a cyclone filter between my sander and the vacuum. The cyclone filter removed most of the drywall dust. I did not notice much dust getting into my work area, except when I rotated the head from ceiling sanding, 180 degrees, and then dust spilled onto the floor. The holes that are in the sanding pads, are not all vacuum holes, as I thought, but are useful for aligning the sanding disks. To sum up, this unit is heavy for use on a ceiling, but did a great job for me, using it for short periods with frequent breaks. On walls, it works well. I would recommend this unit.

Doesn’t work
Reviews looked great, YouTube reviews looked great. I was using a commercial grade vacuum which is over and above any I saw being used online. The unit won’t even suck up tissue paper out of the box. The design they used under the sanding pad restricts all air movement 110%. Returned immediately. I checked out the king Canada sander equivalent and it’s incredible; I’ve finished half my job in the time it took me to figure out the WEN was useless. Feel free to try it out but if you’ve read this far I’d suggest a different model from WEN (no clue if any others are better or not.) or just go with the King Canada brand/ portercable! Best of luck and I hope whatever you buy actually sucks (haha!)

Terrible dust collector, mediocre sander.
Very disappointing. As a sander it works ok, a little awkward to use on ceilings and high walls. In terms of suction power, it's terrible. Hooked up to my 1/3hp dust collector, it left tons of dust everytime the sander was taken off the surface of the drywall. It holds all the dust in the sanding head, then drops it all as soon as you move. Switched to a shop vac and that was even worse. It's a shame, but this unit is not at all useful for reducing dust. I ended up returning the sander and getting a refund.

Great for someone for intermittent use
This is my first try with a power sander like this. It surprised me with how aggressive it can get so you do need to check after a single pass. I am saying this a a positive as you can get a job done fast. It is heavier than some of the more expensive units on the market. If I was doing this for more than an hour at a time, I would invest in the more expensive brands. Easier on the body and easier to maneuver around. For someone like me, someone who isn't in the drywall profession but needs to sand a room once every other week at max, this was a great deal!
