Surprisingly - They Work!

I was skeptical plug-in repellents would actually work. I can’t bring myself to use poisons or kill a mouse, so I’ve tried many non-lethal options. A lot have reduced my visitors, but this is the first to completely stop mice entering my home. I have been using them for about a month and all signs - droppings, chewing, seeing mice, etc have disappeared - and the change was almost instant! The only complaint I’d give on these is that some (not all) buzz just loud enough that I can hear them. I put those ones in the areas where I don’t spend tons of time. The rest that I can’t hear are put in frequented living spaces (kitchen, living room, dining room).

These might work for a minimalist

I wish I could give these a better rating. These seem to work ok when nothing is in the way AND the description does say that it won't work past barriers. The problem is...most of us have a small appliance or 2 on the countertop and the mice hide behind the appliance. Or they hide behind the washer or in the closet where there are no outlets. Mouse trails disappeared from open areas and multiplied in hard-to-get-to areas. They leave the areas that these plug-ins can reach and hide in the safety of the areas untouched. So they don't get rid of them. Great idea for a minimalist who lives in a box with no belongings. Plus it says it does not harm pets but my 2 dogs and cat were all more agitated when these were plugged in. One other thing, I am very sensetive to external stimlus. No other changes were made in my house aside from plugging in these rodent repellants. A few days after plugging them in I started feeling very lethargic, pounding headaches, a general overall sickness. Went to my chiro for an adjustment, which usually helps right away, it did nothing. I would feel better at work and worse when I got home. This went on for a few weeks. Finally, I unplugged the mouse repellants to clean, forgot to plug them back in and the next day the headache and sickness were gone. I wanted to give it a fair go so a few days later I plugged them back in and this time by the end of the day the symptoms were back. Unplugged them again and have left them out, symptoms haven't returned. If you have an overly sensitive nervous system or aspergers/autism, ADHD, etc you may want to consider something else.

Doesn't seem to work with rats. Also might not work with USA outlets.

Effectiveness: The rat problem I had did not show much signs of decline, they still enter rooms where these things are active. They might work on mice but not rats or maybe the bait in my traps is enough incentive for them to ignore the annoying noises. They have already been in my house for a couple weeks now so it is possible these things are better at prevention than eradication (or maybe I should say eRATication XD). The light: When you plug these in, a dim blue light comes on which is nice because it lets you know that it is working but it also seems to be advertised as a night light which is not realistic. These lights are way too dim to be called a night light. Volt problem with USA: It is not clearly stated on the amazon page but when you read the instructions, it states that these are ONLY to be used on 110v outlets. I live in the USA which has 120v outlets. I figured/hoped it was close enough so I plugged them in anyways. One out of the 6 units started buzzing as soon as I plugged it in so I though maybe that one was defective and put it to the side. After a day or so, two others started buzzing. I left them in and they haven't exploded or anything yet so hopefully it's fine. This might be due to a voltage issue or maybe something else, I'm not sure. It might also be the reason that I have not had luck with them. It just seems a bit sleazy to me that these are able to be purchased in the USA but they do not clearly mention that they are not made for USA outlets. Hope this helps.

It works!

Once they are plugged in, a couple days later I did not hear anything scratching in the walls. And my cat was much calmer.

DO NOT BUY VICTOR PRODUCTS ONLINE!!!

I purchased a set of these Victor plug in rodent repellants in Tractor Supply and they have worked great for months! I was seeing mice in my barn and ever since plugging these in, I have not seen one mouse! However, I bought another pack on Amazon and every one was defective. Per the return guidelines, I contacted Victor the manufacturer to request a return/refund. They told me since I purchased this through Amazon and directly from their website that would not process my refund and I should contact Amazon. Luckily, Amazon made an exception and processed my refund (kudos to Amazon!) but I would not purchase Victor products on here because it is not worth the hassle. Either purchase directly from their website if you want to try these or go check out your local Tractor Supply or some such store.
