Works perfect! Totally worth the money.

Although the P3 controller came with a pigtail harness to connect to any wiring, it's totally worth the money to buy this cable to plug into your factory harness. Ford makes plugging into the factory connector harder than it needs to be, but it's still pretty easy. On a 2014 Explorer, that connector is just behind/above the hood release behind a piece of plastic or two. If you don't disconnect your battery like they tell you to(because you really don't need to), be aware that the contacts on the black end of the cable are flush with the housing and one of those wires is always hot. To avoid the possibility of seeing sparks if the black end bumps into anything metal, don't plug in the connector on the vehicle side until *after* you route the cable out to wherever your controller will be.

Makes installation a snap - literally

This is the second Tekonsha wiring adapter I've bought over the years. The first was for my '05 Tacoma used with my Prodigy P2 brake controller. This purchase was for my '04 Expedition, and the quality was as good as I remembered, and installation as easy as could be. My favourite thing about these wiring adapters is that it negates the need to splice wires or use butt connectors (or something equivalent), and allows one to easily remove the brake controller and wiring very quickly were you to move the controller to a new vehicle, etc... Highly recommend!
