Works Very Well
Follow the instructions and it works the way it should. I used a mop for the rinse and clean up steps because I was working in a fairly small space and don't have a squeegee but it worked fine. It didn't seem like the 1 - 2 minute set time they suggested would work, but it did.

A must, and does a great job
I bought two, since I have a two-car garage. I power-washed my garage floor twice. One side had a few paint splatters on the floor, nothing big, but the other had a few oil stains. After heavy cleaning, I applied the concrete etch. I used a metal watering can that holds two gallons of water and mixed it in with the concrete etch. I poured some on the floor, let it sit for about a minute or two and then began scrubbing. I missed scrubbing a few spots and you can tell, once it dried. Nothing bad, though. I first wet the surface, lightly, then applied the etch. Let it sit for a minute or two, scrubbed, and then moved on to the next section. When done, I rinsed the whole floor. I had a squeegee to wash/clean a car's windshield, and put it on a pole. I used it to pull out all of the water from the garage floor (not all, but 'most'). I then gave it another rinse, to ensure I didn't leave any etch on the floor. After it dried, my garage floor went from a dark gray to almost white, which is what you want! Unfortunately, some of the etch pooled at the end of my driveway and dried, so I have a white spot at the end of my driveway (which is asphalt). Not a biggie, I'm sure the rain will eventually wash it clean.

Wear Gloves
It does what it says it will do....follow directions and start early in the day with plenty of sunshine and ventilation to air out the garage when done. Hopefully floor is dry when you have to close up the garage door by nightfall. Added this product while using a pressure washer on the cement. I din't have many oil spots but had a 50 year old cement garage floor with 50 year old paint, wood stain spills, glue, sealer, varnish etc...whatever else collects in 50 years? Cement came out almost new and certainly clean enough for the EPOXY floor to adhere to after. Had to scrub a few hard spots with a steel brush & elbow grease but did the trick! Used it on a standard 2 car gagrage about 22' x 22' along with 1 gallon muriatic acid wash from hardware store for surface cleaning, then applied concrete etch after for a deep clean. It's all in the prep work and getting the garage actually EMPTY! Let it dry and air out a few days before applying the EPOXY sealer...it's worth the wait to do it right....don't rush.

You can save a lot of time and skip both degreasing and etching by renting a concrete floor buffer
It works, in some spots of the concrete I can clearly see the pores opened from this product. Out of hesitation I rented a concrete floor grinder from the orange home improvement store. The 2 hours I spent with the concrete floor grinder was a better use of my time than the 8+ hours I spent decreasing the surface plus the 2 hours I spent using this product. The concrete floor buffer I rented weighted about 180 lbs and was a beast to unload and load. It was easy to use otherwise, completely worth it in the end for my situation. This product has its place, but if any amount of degreasing is necessary this route may not be worth the time. If you have a fairly clean slab to etch, then this is the product for you.

A must-have when applying Rust-Oleum epoxy!
Just likeRust-Oleum EPOXYShield Heavy-Duty Degreaser in the cases of bad grease/oil stains, this EPOXYShield Etch is absolutely necessary to ensure proper adhesion ofRust-Oleum Professional Floor Coating Kit . After you've hosed down and removed the bulk of the debris from the concrete you wish to etch, mix this up as directed and apply. As is stated on the directions, using a watering can will help evenly apply the etch solution. You should hear it "bubbling" which sounds like a freshly poured glass of pop (cola). Let it sit for a minute or two, then scrub, then rinse. The concrete may appear to be a bit dull after application of this but that's what you want for proper adhesion of epoxy! I've used this product time and time again and have yet to have a bad result. I only wish the kits included the etch (they used to a few years back).

Definitely needed to epoxy-seal your garage
If you are epoxy-sealing your garage floor you definitely need this. This is a milder acid-etch, there are stronger stuff you can get out these but this was good enough for me. It's easier to handle and safer than harsher chemicals, but definitely wear gloves and a mask. I ended up using two packages of acid-etch for a one-car garage and it did a great job, as long as all the other prep work is done in conjunction with the acid-etch. It's been a couple months but the epoxy is holding up so far, if anything changes I'll update the review.

Did not work to remove grout
I was hoping to remove grout from the bricks but it didn't work.

Does what it suppose to
Preparation is everything. Use etch, also added an antislip additive you can find at most hardware stores. Plenty of paint chips provided. I divided the paint chips up into 4 bowls and divided the garage in 4 sections. I had some epoxy left over and wished i would have used more in areas where the garage absorbed more paint than others. Overall for my first attempt I recommend the professional kit

Do not use. Use Muriatic acid instead
Seller was great. The etch is a joke. New pad, followed instructions to the letter. Just about zero change to the floor after "etching" with this product. Rustoleum says "Do Not Use Muriatic Acid" andnafter some research and talking to Rustoleum employees i found out its due to there view of it not being as environmentally friendly. I tested muriatic acid on a small partnof my pad. Night n day difference. I used muriatic acid on the entire pad. Rinced. Neutralized with baking soda. Scrubbed/rinsed again. Used Epoxy Shield gargage floor kit. Waited 24 hrs and used the Premium Clear Kits. Love my shop floor. Using Rustoleum clost me roughly $1000 vs $12000 for the cheapest pro job (2000sq/ft shop floor)
