Easy to install exterior Rinnai water heater.

Works great. Now we have endless hot showers at my house. There is no more yelling in the bathroom at my four grand kids for using up all the hot water in the tank. My wife & I don't care anymore how long teenagers take their showers. Just another reason to stop by Mimi & Pops house. It was also nice, to drop off my 30-year old hot water tank at the county landfill area. The natural gas monthly invoice is about $42.00 Half of that monthly cost is just to read & process the gas invoice. Natural TECO gas is the most affordable way to heat anything. It also works great on my bar-b-cue grill, fire table & gas clothes dryer. Just waiting to add a whole house generator to the list of equipment for next year hurricane season. Thanks, Robert Cumbus

Pretty good hot water heater

Tricky installation & setup; we had cool hot water for the first day until we learned that we also needed new shower handle cylinders...after that all good!

Not a serious replacement for dependable tank systems

These are NOT designed as replacements for tank water heaters - they may be acceptable as enhancement units, but are definitely not able to heat water for a household. We have a Rinnai RU160EN that is hard to get started (there is no manual "start" switch and the unit does not start unless there is a demand of 1.5-2gal/min). Also, the unit heats well for a while, but then may cut off and provide cooler water at inopportune times, e.g. during a shower. We spent in the vicinity of $3,000 for purchase, re-plumbing, etc. This was a big mistake. We will likely pay more soon to plumb a regular tank water heater in our garage and will discard this unit. We can't afford this, but we need hot water. Be ware - these do not replace regular tank systems. The Tankless systems save some space, but not as much as advertised - you still need room for pipes and tubes for annual maintenance.
