This was the best price for a replacement for my Square card reader

Very useful for small business
I use the square platform for my home bakery, and needed this for in-person sales. My test sale worked and my first official sale with the Square Reader was a breeze. It was seamless to use with the square app on my Android phone. Glad I finally made this purchase, and I used the code to get this first reader for free (with a rebate code in the box). I also bought a little case so I won't lose it.

Good to have as backup for customer cards without a chip
You should primarily use a version of the Square Chip and Contactless reader for the majority of your transactions so you are better protected from fraud, but still in 2023 not every card I am handed has a chip or tap to pay option. This magstripe reader is good to have as a fallback option in those scenarios. Swiping a card means Square takes a little less from the transaction than the alternative, which would be manually entering the card info into the app. Many phones now don't have headphone jacks. If that's the case for your phone, you will need a USB C to headphone jack adapter to use this on your device. Buying this on Amazon cost about 30% less than directly from Square.

The Spinning gets Old
How can there not be a way to hold it in place? Every time you swipe it just spins around and is quite annoying. It did work for my Samsung S20+ but save yourself this minor inconvenience that will grate you over the entirety of your work day.
