Item may not be functional.

This product was ordered 2x’s. In the 1st order the stand pieces could not be assembled due to incompatibility of connectors. The “warranty” paperwork provided a contact # but it was to a co that had nothing to do with the product…they have had numerous calls regarding problems with these lamps and seemed irritated. I returned the lamp through Amazon, and the process went smoothly. In the 2nd order the stand pieces were correct but it didn’t include the lamp. The base was dented as well. So, I removed the lamp from the 1st order and used that. My impression of both pks was they had been opened and returned due some problem(s). So, when they were sent to me they came off the warehouse shelf flawed. I’m returning the incomplete lamp with the hopes someone in the future will at least check the item and not send it to some unwitting customer.

Bright light in a sleek, minimalist design

This LED Chrome Desk Lamp from PureOptics provides bright light in a sleek, minimalist design. The lamp arrives almost fully assembled - you just plug in the light bar and plug in the power cord. The base is round and heavily weighted so no chance of it toppling over from an accidental bump. Because of the way the light bar plugs in, you can turn it 360 degrees so you can direct the light wherever you wish. The interesting thing is that the power button is on the end of the light bar. The button is lit and it glows a blue color when the light is off. This may be important if you are thinking of using this lamp in a bedroom. The lights are a strip of LEDs that are not user replaceable however, they are rated for 30,000 hours. The light is a slightly warm, 4600-5000K. It only uses 6 watts of power and emits almost no heat. It is not an intense, ultra bright light but it's bright. It is task lighting for sure because the light is very directed. I like this very much for sewing. I can direct the light over my sewing machine or swing it around for hand sewing work. The light is also well suited for reading as there is no glare. Now for the cons. First, it says this lamp is dimmable but you cannot dim it from the lamp itself. Next, mine arrived with a fairly noticeable dent in the base, although it doesn't affect the functionality at all. However, for the current price of ~$66, a dent is disappointing.

Not good for wall switch.. not dimmable as stated.

I had to return.. for these reasons.. Main 2 reasons, #1, does not work with wall switch. When you turn lamp on and flip wall switch off, the next time you turn on wall swict it will not turn on lamp untill you press lamp's power button. #2 - it does not have any way to dim.. it claims to be dimmable, but it's not. It's only On or Off. Incorrectly described.. Then.. #3, not a lot of light. I would have expected more light from a floor lamp. It's ok, but not very bright.

Looks and functions exactly as it is advertised.

Very easy to assemble. Need to fold the extra wire cord to fit in pole at the bottom before screwing it into the base. Love it!

Dimmable lamp is not dimmable

I have to return it now, since even in the title it says, that it is dimmable … which it isn’t. Should have read through the reviews first, but provider of this product should adjust the details on their description to avoid such hassle for future orders

Hand's down my all time favorite desk lamp

I wish that there was something you could do to emphasize how great a product is. Maybe Amanzon would allow you to put an asterisk beside a produce, or a plus sign, or what have you. I actually just reviewed another great desk lamp and there is no way that I would want to take that rating back, but even among several great products, some are going to stand out a bit more. Well, this is the desk lamp that will stand out. The reasons why this is such a great, distinctive lamp are pretty obvious once you try to tease them out. First, it has absolutely amazing lines. It looks like to small pipes that have been attached to one another and before you turn on the light you will say to yourself, "There is no way this will produce much light." And there you would be wrong. And that leads to the second reason this is such a great lamp. The light doesn't come from a bulb - or at least not from any traditional bulb that I can find - but from a series of glass bulbs that run along the outside arm of the lamp. The effect is striking and is one of the coolest things I've ever seen from any lamp, and not merely from a desk lamp. Given the size of the arm, you'd think the light would be rather minor, but I discovered it produced more light than the two reading lights I had combined to light up one of the reading areas in my house (I actually have four reading areas, three sitting and one standing - five if you include the back deck on my house). So I've removed the two reading lamps that were on the table beside my chair and moved them elsewhere, thus gaining more room on the table and making the entire area feel more open. The light that the lamp produces is a clear, bright, white light. I normally prefer a slightly warmer light, but this illuminates my books so effectively that I end up not really minding. So all in all, as good a reading lamp as you can imagine, unless you are very insistent on warm light. Or, if your decorating style is Victorian or American West, this extremely modern looking lamp might clash. But all in all, a great, great lamp.

Not dimmable, poorly packed, failed after 6 months

First off, the lamp is not dimmable. The lamp comes in sections, easily screwed together except the internal wiring is too long. I had to make the extra wire coil into the base to assemble. I decided to keep the lamp because the light was very good, and it matched another similar one I already had. Today I discovered it no longer works, just 6 months after I got it. I hardly used it. Find something better. Not worth all the hassle.
