Works with LifeFitness bikes
Finally found a chest strap that will work at my local gym. No connection procedures. It just picks up the signal and starts working.

Easy addition to my recently purchased Rogue Echo Air Bike!
All I had to do was open up the package & put on the sensor and work and it works great! Looks like it only has a life expectancy of 2500 hours but this is a pretty important rating so I expect it to last beyond 2500 hours, to some degree at least. Heck, I hope I can wear this bad boy out inside of a year, maybe I should make this a goal! I am sure there are folks out there that could wear one of these down in a couple of months. I can only wish I was in that group. Oh well, I will do the best I can! Thanks for reading.

Excellent Telemetry Strap
I purchased this telemetry strap to use while working out at the gym. Almost all the cardio machines at my gym have Polar receivers and can display my heart rate from this transmitter without having to hold on to the physical sensors. This may not seem like a big win, but it's much more comfortable to walk on a treadmill or use an elliptical machine without having to hold on to heart rate sensors. Using the strap is easy: you just wrap it around your chest, connect the loose end of the strap to the sensor and moisten the contacts. There is no on/off button so you don't have to worry about anything except for putting it on. It is fairly comfortable to wear, and I don't really notice when it is on. The whole thing is made out of plastic and the strap is elastic. The build quality is excellent and it is completely waterproof. The strap is 'coded' which means that you don't have to worry about interference from other people wearing straps around the gym. This works with the polar wrist-watches, but I have found that the 'coding' doesn't work with the Life Fitness treadmills/elliptical machines or the Precor elliptical machines at my gym. Your mileage may vary, but if the person next to me on the machine is also wearing a telemetry strap, the machine will get confused and vary wildly in its reading. Sometimes it will display my heart rate, and others it will display the person next to me. This is more a problem of the proximity of the machines. If the other person is one machine away, there is no problem with interference. I haven't found this to be a big deal, if I need to I just move one machine over. Pros: + Fully waterproof + Excellent build quality + Comfortable + Accurate Cons: - Interference with other transmitters nearby in gym (this is a problem with the receiver on the equipment, not the strap). Bottom Line: Excellent strap to use with a watch. If you are using in a gym with a receiver on a machine, be prepared to deal with some interference if there is another transmitter within 5-10 feet.

Look ma, no hands.
I purchased the Polar T31 Coded Heart Rate Transmitter on the hopes it would work with the Life Fitness Activate Series OST Treadmill at the fitness center I go to. I'm pleased to report right out of the box so far so good. Putting the thing on is a no brainer, even if you need to adjust it. Also wearing the transmitter wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. After putting it on, I just walked up to the machine and set the program I wanted to use and off I went. No more messages on the display about "no heart beat detected" and I don't have to have my hands on the sensors anymore. At this time I don't have anything else to compare the transmitter with in terms of accuracy except that the reading were in line with what I was getting when holding the sensors on the treadmill. Maybe even better. I did order the two-pack of the Spectra 360 Electrode Gel and used some on the transmitter where moisture was indicated. Problem with that is the bottles are larger in person than they appear online. I have enough to last me for the rest of my life. My initial impression of the Polar T31 Coded Heart Rate Transmitter is positive in that in does what I needed it to do and it's a no muss or fuss item. Time will tell if it holds up.

Inexpensive and works great
Used it a couple months so far, works great! I do need to wet the sensor part for it to read. Bought a compatible watch online (used) to monitor heart rate. It does sync with older precor elliptical, but true that if you have dimmer-switch lights, you should turn them all the way up or down, otherwise it's inaccurate.

Long battery life! Mine lasted nearly 18 years of 1-2 hours of cardio excercise every other day.
I liked everything about the chest strap configuration. It was strapped to my chest so that I didn't have to worry about it not picking up the heart rate signal.

Works, accurate, durable
I originally purchased a Polar RS100 which came with the Polar soft strap and sensor. I ended up tossing the soft strap and sensor as it was constantly dropping out and eventually it would never pick up my heart rate again. This older more durable strap seems to work better for me as I have never had my heart rate drop out and it only takes a minute or two for the built in sensor to pick up my heart rate. I think the problem with the newer Polar soft strap was that the internal wiring was damaged over time by cinching the strap too tightly. With the T31 strap this problem isn't possible as all the electronic components are separate from the elastic strap. I believe this strap is far more durable than the newer straps and I'm glad I went this route instead of just buying a new updated soft strap and sensor. This strap would be perfect if it had a replaceable battery. There are You Tube videos out there demonstrating how to replace the battery in the T31 strap however it takes a little bravery and being competent with hand tools. Then again if your battery is dead then you really have nothing to lose. You either ruin your already dead T31 strap or you buy a new one. The loss of comfort from the soft strap to the T31 strap is minimal. Honestly I can't even really tell. If you have a good work out going I doubt any person could really notice. I recommend this strap over the soft strap unless Bluetooth is required. If you need Bluetooth this strap isn't for you.

Comfortable and accurate
Comfortable, accurate, works well with rowing machine. Strap not such good quality, although replaceable, hence only 4 stars

T31 Coded Transmitter replaces old T61
I have a DiamondBack recumbent bike and the T61 transmitter no longer worked properly. I would get a heart rate of 165 when I first got on the bike and it would shut off. I could not use it any longer with the heart rate monitor and I could not find a T61 anywhere. The T31 looked identical so I tried it out. It works just like the old T61 and I can cycle with confidence in my heart rate reading.

Polar T31 Coded Transmitter works with Precor treadmill.
I use the Polar T31 Coded transmitter to communicate with my Precor treadmill. It provides the heart-rate input that is vital to my bio-feedback controlled exercise session. It works reliably.

It makes it easy to keep a steady pace that keeps me in ...
We cannot go to the gym without our Polar Heart monitors. These work well with most electronic exercise equipment. I watch my heart rate instead of the machine intensity. It makes it easy to keep a steady pace that keeps me in my personal heart rate zone that is good for me. It gives a constant reading without having to grab the heart monitor handles. Washable. I had my first one for about 15 years. I would still be using it, but I accidentally left it somewhere. I replaced it with exactly the same monitor. Great product with a great price. So worth it!!!!!!
