Looks nice but offers less protection than my DIY hiding

It is nicer aesthetically but offers less protection than my DIY hiding. I lost few babies after swapping out my DIY. Given its price which is not very cheap for a decorative grass, have to take a star out.

They are good, but will float.

They work good when weighted down so they don't float up.

Didn’t work for me

I had high hopes for these. My guppies always have fry during the night & they always seem to eat the majority before I can get them into the baby saver basket. I was hoping this product would keep them safe for only a few hours until I could get the fry moved to safety…this did not happen I flipped my light on to find a Frye being chased & no other Fry to be found even with this floating on top of my water. Captured lots of food & other material got stuck on this & I had to scrub out with toothbrush. I removed this from my tank.

My Axolotl loves them!

The grass is extremely soft even though it appears pokey. My Axolotl refuses to sleep anywhere else but on the bed of grass I made him. My only con is that they don't suction cup to the bottom of the tank. Since Axolotl's don't really use substrate the grass won't stay down at the bottom and just floats. I managed to weigh it down with a large rock which has worked out good so far.

Sanctuary for both fry and adults!

The media could not be loaded. I previously had a guppy give birth in my main tank and all of the fry ended up being fish food. When I saw my black molly was pregnant, I wanted to do something for the babies that would help them survive but also didn't want to purchase an entire birthing tank (I'm an amateur fish keeper at best lol). Anyway, I saw that these had pretty good reviews and decided to give them a try. As soon as I installed the grass on the bottom of the tank, the fry fled to them and have been living there peacefully ever since. It has kept them safe for about a week now so we'll see how long it lasts! I also have the grass floating at the top of the tank and my adult fish have taken kindly to that. I don't think the fry have ventured to the top yet to try them out. Very happy with my purchase! I have a 10 gallon tank for scale.

Great Floater

We put these in as floater plants. We had no idea the fish would love these as much as they do. Will be ordering more.

Good for fry. Bad for your wallet.

Okay so it's been quite a long time since I bought this but I wanted to see if it did the job and boy did it do its job. I purchased this as a way to try stop my Platy from eating their fry and ....it did exactly that. We started off with 4 Platy fish and now have in excess of 22 fish in the tank purely due to surviving fry. Also since purchasing and using this we've had to buy 2 new tanks, each increasing in size, to accommodate the growing fish population and spent a fortune on food, filters, water treatments etc. I suppose you could say this product has cost me a fortune but I don't regret buying it, we now have some lovely fish and wouldn't change them for the world. This is not a negative comment about the product but I have now removed it from the tank and will not be using it again any time soon, I'm sure you understand. Can't afford another tank lol

Great hide out!

Dwarf Gourami have taken up residence under the one that is floating. Second one ( 2 in pack ) is resting on the sand at the bottom of the tank & attracting a lot of interest. Both are great places for fry to hide without being easily harassed by adults. Am going to order another pack so one end of my tank is a 'quiet' and more protected area. Yes it is plastic but doesn't look awful and fish really like them, which is what it's all about! Highly recommend.

Split adult platy fishes tail

After an hour one of my shy adult platy fish had a split back fin after hiding by the artificial grass(fry hide). The plastic had sliced her. The platy fry did go in inside the grass but i had to remove it straight away so no more damage is done. I've now added more natural plants for the fry to hide in. I do not recommend this !! FIRST AND LAST TIME OF BUYING ARTIFICIAL PLANTS THEY DAMAGE FISHES FINS!!
