Works but,.......
The gel encased the connector on the neutral closed and latched. On the hot lines, the gel encased but would not close completely and latch. I ended up having to use zip ties to keep closed then had to wrap in tape.

Works on 4/0 Wire
My wife and I originally ran 4/0 wire for our property with plenty of extra wire for Electrical run to breaker panel. Contractors were nice enough to chew it all up and not bother to tell us. About 1 year end, found numerous splice jobs they botched that were corroding through and driving my house electrical system nuts. Anyway, bought 4 of these originally for 4/0 wire, but returned when I found a couple of reviews elsewhere that stated they wouldn't work on 4/0 wire. Bought 2 more to try and worked great on 4/0 wire. Tightens down very secure on splice. Used medium/large Channel locks to close the gel case around wire, gel squeezed out on sides and was very secure. Did add a large size cable tie around the case, as I read others have, just to be sure.

Just the thing for easy spices.
Great kit for making a waterproof splice. You'll definitely want to get some zip ties as they will make closing the clam shells much easier. Wouldn't trust the plastic snaps with out them. Bought a four of these kits to remove a j box that wasn't suitable for burial. Connectors were of good quality but there were two of the lugs that secure the cable where the hex wasn't 1/8 Allen as specified in the directions. Suspect manufacturing defect. Kit is made in Taiwan. I have proper sets of Allen wrenches but nothing fit. Had to grind down one slightly to make it fit. Specs say to tighten to 225 foot pounds. Not sure how you'd achieve that with an Allen wrench so tightened down until they just wouldn't tighten any further. The old connectors that I replaced were actually somewhat loose. Overall a good product at a good price.

some quality issues
somewhat difficult to use. would never install w/o a double wrap of electrical tape. probably not a long term solution for direct bury jobs. but ok for box installs

Worked OK but snaps could use improvement
Accidently cut a 200amp line running out to my barn. Used these to patch in a splice. (Why someone decided to run such a line through a pasture, along side a water line, then dogleg into the barn instead of the direct route from the main panel, I will never know!) Worked well in splicing the lines, though it was a struggle to get the case to snap into place around the 4/0 lines. Ended up having to use channel locks, then taped up the cases with FlexTape to make sure they would not pop open. Reburied the line 5' down. It's been several months, with lots of rain and flood irrigation over the spot. So far the lights are still on and nothing has burnt down.

Really great product!!!
The gel that envelopes the wire is brilliant! Had not seen this before. It completely seals the wire from corrosion. I had nicked an aluminum wire going to my workshop while digging a trench. Within 6 weeks the wire turned into a white chalk. This connector is easy to install. Use a pair of pliers to close it tight.

Exactly what I need and very easy to use
I used this product for an underground junction box to keep the connections protected from corrosion and moisture. So far no complaints.

Super easy to use but need to be clamped a little better
I needed this to fix a fault in my underground electric line coming into my house since the wires had gotten cut due to the ground settling. Was super easy to splice my lines and hook them back together. Only problem I had was trying to get the box with the gel clamped together so I just used a couple of zip ties then wrapped the entire thing with some rubberized splice tape I had. Just got everything buried underground again a couple of days ago and so far so good. Got full power in the house again and no issues. Worked great!
