A MUCH BETTER walker option for stability in rising from sitting position

This set of TWO Lumex UpRise folding walkers are just what we needed for my mother. Her original walker (same make and model) was bent when she fell, so we needed to replace the unit. She finds the lower handles give her the stability she needs when attempting to stand from a sitting position on a low chair or from a low toilet. And having two means we can have a walker at both home and at a family member's home. We recommend you also order the additional wheels for the front legs (we put the wheels on the inside to make narrow doorways easier to navigate) and the glide tips for the back legs for ease of movement on carpeted floors. Well designed and a MUCH BETTER option than the traditional walkers.

Great idea, but doesn't work well

Thought this design would be great, but ended up returning it. The lower handles are a great idea, but the weight was not balanced and when my mother attempted to use it on the lower handles, it started to tip. It was rather large and bulky too. Thought it too dangerous for mom to use, so returned it.

Great buy at this price

I am still using just a cane for walking. However, I bought two of these walkers for less than $80 a pair, and use one next to the bed (to help me get my balance or straighten up on getting out of bed) and one turned backward around the toilet (to provide chair-like arms to help me stand up again). Very sturdy and versatile, yet will fold and fit in the back of my car if necessary. I also like the fact that I can press just one button (in the center of the top cross-bar) to close it, instead of fiddling with buttons on both sides while trying to fold and balance at the same time.

Uprise walker

The walker is very supportive and easy to use. When placed in front it does help my Mother lift herself to walk from chairs without arms.
