Licorice or Jäegermeister scent? You decide!
Ok, so this product is fabulous! It’s so effective, that we keep it on-hand at all times for when our kids are exposed to lice at school. You saturate their hair, let it air-dry, & your done! It comes with a comb, but it’s not a requirement to brush it out. The reason for the 4 stars? The smell is STRONG, & the scent doesn’t go away until you wash your hair. I have happy memories of eating licorice as a child, so I don’t necessarily mind it. My husband has terrible memories of the same smell involving Jäegermeister, so he can’t stand it. If you can get past the odor, then it’s a great product.

Inexpensive, chemical-free, and effective!
We had our first ever lice outbreak after an overnight with a friend. I ran out and bought some other brand of expensive lice killing product only to realize that it was basically hair conditioner that had nothing in it to actually kill the lice. And it had some pesticide spray which isn't really necessary if you properly wash and vacuum everything. I then went on a hunt for a product that would work. Licefreee caught my eye because it is inexpensive and chemical free and it had great reviews. If it didn't work, I wasn't out a whole lot of money. To my surprise, it did work! It smells like licorice, which I'm not a big fan of, but its not the worst smell in the world and it doesn't smell like chemicals so I can definitely handle it. After using it, I found dead bugs so it really does work. And it's so easy to use. The bottle says you don't have to pick the nits out, but I highly recommend that you do because it helps you to know if you are free and clear of lice and if there has been a reinfestation. If you don't pick the nits, then it's impossible to tell if the lice are really gone. It's like water, very thin and it runs, so spray it and then rub it in the hair to saturate the whole head of hair. I recommend draping a towel around the shoulders to catch drips. Here's the process I used: Week 1: I sprayed it all over everyone's hair first thing in the morning and then everyone went about their day while I washed and dried bedding, clothes, and pillows and vacuumed mattresses, carpet and rugs, furniture, and car upholstery. All stuffed animals went into trash bags and were put in our storage building. I left Licefreee on everyone's hair and allowed it to dry all day. At bedtime, it got washed out in the bath. For the kids, I washed their hair as normal and then used a heavy amount of hair conditioner. The conditioner makes it so much easier to use the lice comb without pulling their hair. Apply the contioner, then use a regular comb to comb the contioner through the hair. Then use the lice comb on the hair. After each swipe through the hair, rinse the comb in a cup to make sure it is clean and clear of all nits and bugs. I use the conditioner and comb every day for a week. I also pick nits by hand because some are so close to the scalp that the comb doesn't grab them. Week 2: One week after the first application, I retreated with another round of Licefreee then continue conditioning and combing hair for another week. After the second treatment, I also redo the whole house, washing and drying bedding, vacuum everything again, etc. Stuffed animals are not brought back into the house until 3-4 weeks later or a couple weeks after I'm sure the lice are gone. Week 3: After another week, I retreated a third time. After the third treatment, I just check heads for any signs of lice. I continue to check and use a lice comb until we are 3 weeks without seeing any sign of lice. If any signs of lice are found, I would retreat again weekly, but I didn't see any signs after the second treatment. It's a long process, but it is worth it to make sure that the lice are gone! For moms, if you don't have anyone to go through your hair and pick nits, just treat yourself each time you treat the kids and do your hair in the bath or shower just like you do the kids. Condition your hair and use a wide tooth comb to comb the conditioner through your hair and then use a lice comb to remove as many nits and bugs as possible. Use the conditioner and comb daily, just like you do with the kids. Make sure to retreat yourself each week when you retreat the kids. This will catch any bugs that hatch between treatments. Treat yourself, everyone in the house, the house itself, and vehicles 3 times! And make sure to clean out the vacuum cleaner after each use! No product is effective if you don't retreat. No product is effective if you don't treat and retreat the whole house and vehicles. No product is effective if you don't treat everyone in the house. Save your time and money and do it right!

Amazing!!! It works!!
This is the only thing I use to get rid of lice. My daughter gets it all the time because her classmates never get treated. So I always have this on hand and ready. It takes care of them over night! I also use repellent spray daily to help keep love away too but still have this as a back up. Because it actually WORKS!!

It's homeopathic, it works, and it doesn't smell too terrible.

Definitely works - please read if you have fine hair!
Anyone who has had lice knows that it is like searching for an invisible army. An army that your kids are happy to help prosper by the way that they share hats, use 1000 blankets each, constantly touch heads, etc. So the battle (and we've had it twice) is a brutal one. When we got the dreaded buggers this time, I did the whole CVS pesticide treatment. Twice. Each time, I washed all the linens, etc. So much work. But then they still weren't gone. I wasn't going to do the same thing the third time, so I saw this product and thought it made sense. Plus it looked easy. So, I took my three boys outside (where I could see the little infiltrators well), and sprayed the heck out of their hair. The older two have darker hair, making it harder for me to see the live lice, so I didn't see any (but I'm sure they had some). The youngest has blonder hair, and I saw at least 5 or 6. The spray had them like little corpses on his head, and I was able to pluck them out. I also combed everybody (because it really doesn't take long for boys with short hair, and I thought if it helps I'm doing it). I treated my husband's head also, but didn't see anything on him (again, this was like our third treatment at this point). So after they were done, I sprayed my own head. I thought I really saturated it, and I let it dry like the instructions say. The next afternoon, I was like, YIKES, I feel it again. So I did it again. The next afternoon, I still felt something, and I thought - I know this works (I saw it work on my sons' heads). My hair is very fine and I have a lot of it, so I thought, I'm just going to pour the whole bleeping bottle on my head (to where it is literally dripping), I put it up with a clip, put on a shower cap, and let it work for 30 minutes. Then I took the cap off, and let it dry per the directions. And IT WORKED. No more little infiltrators. I think some of the negative reviewers may have had a similar problem to me - and who knows but this process may have worked for them. PLUS - I seem to notice a correlation between fine hair and coarse hair (at least in my family). Those of us with fine hair had a harder time getting rid of these things. The coarse hair seemed to be easier to treat (maybe because using the comb was more effective with the coarser hair?). Anyway, good luck. Everybody has a journey but this is what I would do if it happened again. Also I have to say I couldn't care less how any of these products smell. It's irrelevant to me. I just want to treat the problem and move on.

Need better comb
The spray itself did its job killed the lice and eggs. I’m not sure why it says to comb out eggs and nits “if desired” because it’s 100% necessary if you want to get them out. My hair however was no match for the comb. Me and my daughter both have thick THICK Hispanic hair, not overly long though, and the comb broke not even halfway through my daughters. my son went first since I kind of assumed this would happen and the comb got out all his super easily. The product is SUPER RUNNY when applying and my poor kid got some in his eyes when tilting his head forward so I could get it evenly applied. All in all it worked, yes. But it definitely needs a WAY better comb or at least include two in the package in case one breaks.
