Best rice cooker I've used
This is my first time purchasing a Cuckoo rice cooker and I'm extremely impressed. There are some minor caveats/things to bear in mind when you buy this, but TL;DR: this is a solid rice cooker and I haven't made better rice with any other rice cooker. First, the design is sleak -- the back w/ rose gold goes well with most of our appliances, and adds a nice bit of accent color to the kitchen. My only complaint about the external design is how thin some of the platic feels to the touch. This doesn't 'feel' like a product in its price point; it feels much cheaper. I could imagine this breaking irreparably if dropped. The built-in voices are fun -- being greeted with a little jingle and hearing a voice notify me of each stage of the cooking process is really nice, in spite of being more of a 'fun' thing than a practical one. The voice is in multiple languages, and can be disabled entirely. Again, a bit over-the-top, but it has its function of offering me the freedom to work about the kitchen without constantly checking the rice cooker. This particular rice cooker is non-stick while avoiding the use of teflon. I do not have burnt rice stuck on the bottom of the bowl -- instead, I get consistent rice to my liking from top to bottom, and I don't need to worry about chips of teflon in my food. It has a self-sanitizing feature, that will use hot water to sanitize itself. It should be noted the self-sanitizing is not self-cleaning. In other words, you still need to detach the various plates and components to sufficiently clean the unit. One should not rely on this feature alone to keep their rice cooker clean and in good condition. Speaking of components, there are multiple components that are detachable for cleaning purposes, specifically in the lid. This is a pressure rice cooker, and the various lids and steam filters need cleaning. This is fine and dandy, but the first plate in the lid really requires some strength. It is held in by a thick rubber gromet with a tiny rubber handle, which you can pull to remove the plate. The rubber handle is small and smooth, so people with big fingers/hands will struggle getting a decent grip on it, and people with smaller fingers and hand may struggle with the amount of force required to detach it. It is areas in the design like this and the plastic enclosure where cuckoo made clear design decisions to save on production costs. Luckily, none of these things detract from the quality of the product it yields. I have NEVER cooked better straight rice out of the rice cooker than I have with this. There are several cooking modes to choose from -- most folks will use the glutinous rice setting, which has 3 settings of its own - normal, high heat, and turbo. Normal mode will cook the rice in around 40 minutes High heat will cook the rice in about 30 Turbo will cook it in about 20 The quality degrades the higher power you use -- but not by much. The worst 'quality' rice I got was using the turbo setting for glutinous rice -- it was only slightly tougher than what I'd have preferred, but if I'm in a pinch for time, the turbo mode yields rice that is good enough. Normal mode seems to have the best yield, as the rice is evenly cooked from top to bottom. There are zero 'hard' pieces of rice, nor a collection of burnt rice on the bottom of the bowl, reducing waste. Each grain is soft and is as sticky as I want. It's important to note there are timed modes, as well as ways to customize each option's cook settings, so you can tweak the presets to suit your needs. All in all, this is one of the best cooking appliances I've purchased in awhile.

INNER COATING CAME OFF
I would give this 5 stars but I have been only using this product for a year and a part of the inner coating came off. It looked like a bubble that burst and there's like black coating that is coming off. I am very careful with the pot, I dont even use sponge to rinse it. Only hands and water as it is easy to clean but after cooking rice yesterday I notice a part that is peeling off and now I am unsure if it's still safe to use.

Not good for brown rice or basmati rice. Pressure cooking is a bad idea for rice.
After lots of experience with many rice cookers, my requirements for a rice cooker were pretty basic: it must not burn itself up due to faulty electronics, it must not have a potentially toxic Teflon or similar nonstick pot, and it must make decent brown rice. This Cuckoo had some great reviews on various sites, so I splurged and tried it. Big mistake! Now it's too late to return it. The first thing you notice is that it TALKS TO YOU! Loudly. And it talks in Korean. It's unnecessarily difficult to turn off the talking function. The instruction manual is unclear and hard to understand, and turning off the talking is completely non-obvious; it took a while. The big issue is that pressure cooking is simply a bad idea for cooking rice if you don't want it to be sticky and mushy. Non-pressurized cooking works much better. At first, I followed the instructions for brown rice and it came out awfully gooey and sticky. Yuk! I experimented with different water to rice ratios and found that 1.25 to 1, or even 1 to 1, is about right. But still, the rice is never as good as it should be. Soaking the rice before heating doesn't help. I also tried this with basmati rice, and had more problems - almost inedible. It just doesn't work well. The instructions are awful. There are some tantalizing options for "preset" and "multi-cook", but they don't help, and there is zero useful information about them in the user manual. And, this machine is big - it takes up a lot of counter space. Not good. On the plus side, it seems to be quite well designed and made, after you get over the basic problems of functionality. The pot interior has an "X-well Diamond" coating, which somewhat resembles the nonstick diamond surface of Swiss Diamond pans, which are excellent (and very expensive). I like that part. Eventually, I found another rice cooker that actually does meet the basic requirements, as far as I can tell: the Instant Pot Zest https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Zest-Rice-Cooker-Pot/dp/B07TZL8Y3C/. For about $40, you get a NON pressurized rice cooker, which is exactly what you need to make great rice, a ceramic lined nonstick pot, and (according to the manufacturer) overheat sensing, which should prevent overheating and burning. It's pretty small on the counter, and quite simple to use. The small (8 cup) model is more than sufficient for a family of 4. About overheating: I have had TWO Aroma rice cookers fail by overheating to the point that they created large amounts of horrible smoke and might have caught fire if I hadn't unplugged them. I even had the US Consumer Product Safety Commission investigate the first one. No surprise, they never got back to me and did not stop Aroma from selling those defective devices. Some other low price rice cookers have similar complaints from users. Buyer beware! And, no, I will not use a rice cooker with PFOA, PFAS, or any other sort of Teflon-related non-stick liner. Note that even the very expensive Zojirushi rice cookers use those substances, and many users complain about the nonstick stuff flaking off. Not for my family!

Rice cooker on steroids
It can speak in English, Korean, and Chinese! Makes the best brown rice using the high heat setting. Since I am a novice Korean cuisine cooker, I wish the rice cooker came with a cookbook that included recipes using the rice cooker. Maybe not necessary for a Korean, but would be a great help for novices using the cooker to make dishes other than just rice.

Read the instructions
Getting used to this rice cooker took a little while since we had a the faithful Zojirushi brand rice cooker we moved from. You will want to change the language settings first and then play with the rice cooking setting until you get the rice consistency you like. Once that’s done, you are golden. This rice cooker doesn’t keep the cooked rice as nice as the Zojirushi when in “keep warm” mode (turns the rice a bit brown from cooking) but is not too bad.

Vastly over-rated product. It's still good but over-rated.
It's a good product but it has some deficiencies. The lid is a bit coarse in opening. It needs some dampers on the lid. This is a well-known weakness of the product. The default language is not super easy to change, but it's not super difficult either. The quality of the cooked product is good, but not exceptionally so. The user interface is not good. Dedicated buttons would be sooo much better. The product is a bit larger and taller than expected and the lid bashes into the bottom of my kitchen cabinets so I need to make sure the cooker is not placed directly underneath. I suppose this is the source of the common complaint that the lid pops open. Even if you have "normal" cabinet height, I think the lid could pop open and scratch the bottom surfaces of your kitchen cabinets. It's overpriced but on sale, it could be an alright purchase.

Really good pressure cooker.
I am Korean Canadian, so I used very long time Cukoo pressure twice cooker. Last time I bought the 10cup this model. I like so much. So I purchased for my son’s wedding 6cup model. It’s really with money. I normally cook mutigrain rice. So it cooked really good.
