Great project for kids. Wish there was extra resin.
We ordered the turtle design. I did this together with my 5 year old daughter. I mixed the resin, she did the design. We had fun doing this together. Overall, happy with the results and we will be setting our finished stone in our garden. ABOUT CONTENTS: The set comes with ceramic stepping stone, some plastic tiles, resin with mixing tray, glow in the dark glue, tile picker upper, pipette, and disposable gloves. The instructions are very thorough and well written for kids (with clear pictures). It tells you exactly how to mix the resin and for how long. It tells you how much resin to put inside each section of the turtle, how to use tile picker upper, and what steps to do when. Two thumbs up for instruction. The recommended age is 8 and up but I would recommend a little older if doing on their own. I could not imagine my 8 year old son mixing resin on his own. There are some things I wish were better. I wish the set came with real tiles made of either glass or ceramic, or even stones. The plastic tiles just make this more childish. I know this set is designed for kids, but the results could have been so much prettier with natural materials. The included resin is just enough to cover the surface so that the tiles lay on top. I would have liked a little extra resin to pour over the tiles as an option. My kiddo wasn't as careful laying tiles over and got some resin on top of some tiles and even managed to sink some inside the resin. It would have been nice to have the option to cover the whole thing in resin. The tile picker upper is the same style as those used for diamond painting but did not work as well on the tiles. We struggled to pick up the tiles and grabbed our tweezers instead. The included pipette is standard issue, with volume markings, which are important to know how much resin to put in each section of the design. Unfortunately markings are hard to see, especially if there is some resin inside the pipette. I recommend getting a permanent marker and mark the lines before using it. The gloves are just a plastic liner and sized for an adult hand. The set does not come with any kind of cover to use as a surface protector. Which I think is an important omission in this set as the resin can be messy. ABOUT THE PROCESS: We followed instructions to a T. I have experience working with resin so I know proper mixing is a must. I suggest to warm up the two bottles of resin in warm water before pouring it out into the tray. Don't get any water into resin though. Make sure you get the resin out from each container as much as possible, they have to be equal in volume. Mix for 3 minutes, this is important to thoroughly mix it or it will not cure properly. Using pipette, pour out the resin onto the design according to instructions. We added resin to each section of the turtle at a time, but I don't recommend doing that. My daughter took her time laying out the tiles. By the time we got to the main body, the resin already started to set. It was getting thicker and harder to pour out of the mixing tray. Laying tiles is fun and easy. Lots of room for creativity. After that, set the stone somewhere flat and wait for the resin to cure. It cures faster in warm room conditions, but 24 hours is a recommended wait time per instructions.

Less messy than traditional stepping stones
What I liked about this kit was that it was less messy than traditional mosaic. I did it on my kitchen table with one of my granddaughters. I did layer newspapers under our project just to be on the safe side. I have to say everything worked well with this kit. Once you get everything set up, they can just be creative and make their stepping stone. It’s more young child friendly too and you don’t have to worry about concrete. Even though we did it indoors, I didn’t notice any fumes from the resin either. The finished product is sweet. It’s not your traditional concrete mosaic so I do wonder about the longevity of the color in terms of fading in the sun. Just to be on the safe side , my granddaughter put hers in a shady spot along my garden path.

cute but messy
Cute craft but be prepared for it to be messy. Also, the title says girls and boys, but just note the color is pink.

Super fun and super easy!
So my kids are 6 so a bit young for this but I grabbed because I knew it would be a fun project to do as a family. And it sooo was! The resin was super easy to mix but a little cumbersome to dole out in the dropper provided. And this gal was a bit concerned about putting too much or too little and then making a permanent mess! But we made it work. We have a VERY involved fairy garden and decorated garden so I was able to emphasize patterns with my kiddos. Also teaching them about something that will be with us for a long while so we want it to be nice. I set up our project and they were pretty instantly ready to roll. Along with the dropper being a bit of a hassle the tile grabber thingy was just ok. Eventually we found our hands were better. Ok the kids switched off using the thing d mom used her hands. The stone itself is not really a stepping stone but decoration which the instructions tell you. And it has some imperfections but that’s ok it’s going outside. I did go ahead and try to put the resin along the stone to cover our smudges. And after a day it looked beautiful! We have a fun handmade mosaic! Love it!

Needs adult help
I’m new to resin, so it was nice that the instructions were so clear! The bright green makes this a little brighter than I’d prefer to put in the yard, but it was a fun craft for the kids. I think we’re ready for a more open-ended mosaic now.

Creativity For The Masses
Wanting to tear my kiddos away from their beloved iPads, I opted for this Kids Rainbow Mosaic Stepping/Garden Stone and it turned out to be a great choice because of the following aspects: - Everything you need is included in the kit itself, so, having to take an impromptu trip to the craft store is not going to be needed. - The instructions were written simple enough for my kids to understand and follow to a T, with pictures added to ensure that the end result will resemble the box. - My only complaint is that the tool used to pick up the tiles was not easy to use and wound up not getting the job done, so, we opted for tweezers we had. Probably tweak this tool a bit more and I'll give 5-stars... Perfect for a rain day inside or even as a gift for another child, my kids really enjoyed this craft project and it keep them busy for a couple of hours! Besides the one tiny flaw mentioned above, I would buy this again and highly recommend it to other caregivers as well.

Beautiful and fun!
My 9 year old had a blast designing the stone for my garden! But I absolutely would not trust him to do the epoxy. I did that part. I found it easiest to have him do the design, then I took photos so I could place each stone exactly where he did when I did the epoxy. But it looked great when it was done! It's now in my garden in FULL sun, so I will update my review if it doesn't hold up to weather.

Cute Paint Set
This is a cute stone turtle project for a rainy day. The paint is easy to apply and the included decorations are easy to add as well. We put this in the backyard after my daughter decorated it and it is holding up fine to weather. Nice activity and would recommend.
