Amazing
Wish I had this last year. Had to replace my sand filter pump and decided to get this after reading reviews. I didn’t properly close my pool last year and all the leaves sunk to the bottom of my 12’x24’ pool. Wish I had pictures of how it looked in the beginning. Pool water was dark green almost black in color. Removed brushes from bottom so it would pick up the leaves. First day I had to stay outside for a while to keep back washing the filter and emptying vacuum from debris. Day two just plugged up and went back inside. Did an amazing job. Would definitely recommend to anyone. It did miss a little at round corners but nothing I couldn’t get with the hand held vacuum. If vacuum starts to slow down, it is a good sign to backwash your filter. As you can see from the pictures the change from before to after. Now just adding algaecide and shock to totally clear up the water.

ATTENTION ALL ABOVE GROUND POOL OWNERS, NOT JUST INTEX POOLS!!! AMAZING PRODUCT
When I look to purchase items on Amazon, I read through reviews and usually seemed disappointed in some of the reviews I read due to their lack of information and honesty with the product, so I want to give an accurate honest opinion of this purchase for future buyers like I was. SO this will be lengthy, but full of honest information... I purchased this vacuum in hopes of finding an affordable vacuum option for our pool. We have a 24-foot round, 52-inch-deep above ground metal frame pool, not an INTEX pool from Wal-Mart. The pump is a Hayward 1 HP pump with a sand filter system. I read some reviews and watched a few YouTube videos on this product prior to purchasing it. Straight out of the box, this vacuum is extremely easy to assemble. The mount kit that comes with it is made for INTEX return valves and will not work on our above ground pool jets, without a simple modification. I was able to remove the eye piece from the return jet on our pool, which directs the water to re-enter the pool, I want to re-iterate this, this vacuum is for the return ports of your pools, not the skimmer suction to the pump. Once this was removed, I attached a 1-1/2 in threaded pvc pipe with hose barbs on one end for attaching vacuum hose pipe too. The hose that comes with this vacuum is obviously made to attach to the head it comes with for INTEX return valves due to the large mounting nut and hose attachment. I simply cut the manufactured hose clamp tightening area from the hose itself which allowed the larger slinky part of the hose to easily slide up onto the pvc fitting for 1-1/4 inch hoses. I connected it with a basic hose clamp and turned the pump on. I will admit, for a cheaper vacuum I was skeptical, but this thing literally amazed me at how well it worked the first time using it. We previously had a shark attachment vacuum prior to this which attached to the suction/skimmer basket of our pool. When the pool was dirty, it would slow the pump down due to the debris removed from the pool being clogged up in the skimmer basket and the sand. This vacuum with the return setting option never slows the pump down and this vacuum worked overnight like a charm. There was not a spot of dirt to be seen in the pool bottom the next morning. I removed the vacuum from the pool and opened it up to clean it out. This was a simple task with four easy clips to open and remove the debris screen. Once this was opened, I used our garden hose and simply sprayed the debris screen off and the inside of the vacuum assembly itself. Everything washed out easily onto the ground. I gave this vacuum a 4 star rating on the suction only for the reason when I first watched it, it went over a few spots in the pool and didn't pick up everything visible on the floor. But I left it running overnight and noticed it had eventually removed everything from the pool bottom. I think the areas it was skipping over at first were probably dips in the pools floor bottom and just needed an extra sweep sometime during the night. Even if you do not own an INTEX pool, I highly recommend this pool vacuum to any above ground pool owner with a little common sense to make the attachment work. Even if this vacuum only lasts one season for some reason, I will buy this vacuum each year if they continue to make it. This vacuum is well worth the money spent on it.

Great water powered vac
This is our second one. The first lasted three seasons. The only disappointing thing is that the old one came with multiple hoses that fit together and swivel. The new one has one long not as thick hose that tangles more easily.

I've not manually vacuumed my pool since purchasing this pool cleaner.
Living in a rural area I have debris and dirt constantly blowing into my above ground pool forcing me to vacuum at least every other day. Then I purchased and installed this pool cleaner and I haven't manually vacuumed my pool since. I had already installed an in wall skimmer onto my pool connected to an in ground pool pump and sand filter. (Contrary to manufacturer recommendations this 1 1/2 horse pump works great. Those little pumps that come with these pools are never enough to keep them clean.) To hopefully give myself a break from constantly vacuuming, I bought this Intex pool cleaner and connected it to the original pool pump. The big pump connected to the skimmer and on a timer runs a few hours. When it shuts off the smaller pump attached to this pool cleaner comes on for a couple of hours. Over time I noticed that the cleaner would slow down and seem to have trouble traveling around the pool. This meant the filter cartridge in the pump needed to be cleaned. I was having to clean this annoying cartridge at least once a week, but after cleaning it the pool cleaner would jet around the pool at high speed. This pool cleaner has a plastic tub on the bottom where all the debris it picks up is collected. I finally realized that when cleaning this debris out that there was a fist full of mud in there too. This thing was picking up the dirt and depositing it in it's belly along with all other debris. Once I figured this out I just took the filter cartridge out of the pump for good. The other pump with it's sand filter still collects lots of dirt and muck. Now I no longer had to constantly clean a filter cartridge. Between the big pump sucking debris in from the skimmer and the smaller pump running this pool cleaner I have not had to vacuum the pool at all. I just occasionally back flush my sand filter and occasionally clean debris and mud out of the pool cleaner. I love anything that makes my life easier and this was a big winner. I was actually surprised at how well this works, but am very appreciative. Please note that if the bottom of your pool is littered with dirt and debris and you watch this cleaner going around then you'll see it miss a lot of stuff, but you will also notice that debris around the edge where the cleaner can't reach is blown to a new position as the cleaners water jet reverses and hits it. I recommend walking away and coming back in an hour. You'll be impressed at how much this thing has accomplished. I rate this a strong buy. End of season update: I did put the cartridge filter back in my pump as it does help clean better. Also, I learned to set up my pool filter pump and the little pump that runs this tractor to run at different times. My powerful in ground pool pump causes quite a bit of circulation in the water and makes it nearly impossible for the tractor to function on the side of the pool where the water from the big pump jets into the pool. The tractor slows to a crawl or even stops until it reverses direction and that whole side of the bottom of the pool wouldn't get vacuumed. Running the tractor when the big filter is not running solved that issue. I've still not vacuumed my pool since buying this tractor. Even though the price has gone up I would definitely have to buy another one should the one I have now give up the ghost.

Brilliant bit of kit.
This pressure side pool cleaner makes light of cleaning my 18ft Intex above ground pool. Taking advice from another review, I tightened up the jet mechanism as it was loose. I'm using a decent index sand filter and the cleaner once set up, did a great job of cleaning the pool. Prior to looking at this cleaner I was looking into machines costing several hundred Pounds. If you have a filter pump within the specification required this cleaner is all you need. Well made, does the job, saves me a whole load PF time and effort.

Wish I had this years ago. !!!
This thing is a tireless worker, and keeps the pool bottom brilliantly clean. It does miss a few spots and some debris tends to accumulate in these spots, but it is easy to pick these up with a net (or hand vacuum). It is not perfect, but overall does a great job. You can leave it running continuously if you want, and eventually it picks up nearly all the dirt and debris. I find it work very well for the little mosquitoes and bugs that had previously been a problem Please note: this is not a vacuum devise, but more like a little pressure washer which does collect much of the debris it blows off the bottom. It attaches to the out jet, not the inlet. You do need a strong pump to make it work properly, and you may have to backwash regularly to keep up the pressure to keep it running well.

I wanted to love this, but...
I wanted to love this, but it has been a pain. It doesn't work great and just stops moving. I have to be outside to constantly give it a push or redirect it. I have watched Youtube videos describing how to open and clean it for better performance but nothing improved it. I think I may need a stronger pump, although the one I have should be plenty strong enough according to the recommendations from Intex. I'm disappointed but will keep it and try to find a way to make it work.
