The best investment I made

Our wiring is no longer good for our garage door button. Instead of paying a couple hundred to have a new wire ran, I got this instead. So easy to sync. All the functionality of a wired button. I am glad I got this.

It works well, but what happened to the Vacation Switch?

This wireless garage door opener control works just about as well as the wired versions, with perhaps just a slight delay in the door opener's response to button pushes. That's to be expected with a wireless connection. The delay is very slight and not a problem in any way, just a little different from my older wired connection. Install was fast and easy, and programming was just like adding another key-ring remote. What I'm a bit disappointed about is that Genie removed the so-called "vacation switch" like my wired control has and in its place there's a time delayed switch. This delays closing or opening the garage door from 10 to 30 seconds, depending how many times you push the delay button. I can understand how this feature could be useful, but for me I would have preferred the vacation switch. Having both switches would be ideal, but that apparently wasn't important enough for Genie to have done that. The control is large enough to have housed the extra switch. I will say the wireless switch is nice looking, with large, easy to push buttons. The door button also has a blue light that flashes every so many seconds so you can find the control in the dark. (It's also supposed to begin flashing red when the batteries get low.) If you don't want to run the wire necessary to have a wired control then this is just about as good and works well.

How to know what openers it works with.

Would have liked to know it worked with my opener before I ordered it (which it didn't). Instead of "made after 2013" how about saying "openers with a 3 button programming pad", as shown in the user guide.

Performed as advertised

This remote opener came with batteries, hardware, and instruction sheet. This one is to replace the hard-wired console that has been broken for a few years. It was easy to programmed and installed within 15 minutes with my Genie Power Max opener. I programmed it to turn-off the LED to conserve battery. The closing delay feature is very convenient for existing the garage. Time will tell how long it would last! I will update this review in a year or so about its reliability since I have been replacing broken Genie openers (remote and hard-wire) with the Chamberlain universal products which I found have been very reliable.

Works great, installs in minutes

This is one of those things that is so easy you wish you had done it sooner. Takes two screws to attach to the wall (I used shorter screws than those provided). Batteries are included. Programming takes 10 seconds and four button pushes. The only downside is that this control is over twice the size it could be.

Worth every penny! Worked perfectly and was set up in seconds

I had previously purchased two non-branded controllers that claimed to work with the door opener and neither worked at all. These units are OEM and work. Do not waste your money on the units that are unbranded and claim to work - they do not. These are the ones to buy.
