Great upgrade

Purchased this burner to replace the burner for our Turkey Fryer. It cut the timeboil time for our 60 quart pot in half.

Awesome Outdoor Propane Burner for pressure canning or camping!!!

The Propane burner is awesome! I used it to pressure can (68) jars of food. That is (6) hours of run time for the Burner and I barely used any propane from my tank. The flame was a beautiful blue hot flame. The flame adjustment for fuel flow and the air intake adjustment are easy to use. The burner fits my extremely large pressure canner of (41.3) quarts without a problem. The burner is well built and sturdy. No concerns of tipping over due to weight. My pressure canner empty is over (30) lbs. This is a must buy, in my opinion, for pressure canning or any other outdoor cooking needs. It would be perfect for camping when the weather is prohibitive for building a fire to cook over.

I like it, I've gotten a ton of use out of it... But there are a lot of serious shortfalls.

I am not using this for brewing or boiling gumbo or whatever, I am using it as a high heat outdoor searing, griddling and sauteeing station, which this absolutely does work for. HOWEVER: I had to buy an enormous cast iron pan. My 10-12" round pans and 11" square griddle were usable, but a lot of the heat licked up around the sides. Wasting gas and leaving my hands exposed to flame. So if you don't own an enormous pan already, either buy a smaller-diameter burner or budget in some enormous cookware. Heat control is tricky. Chicken thighs in my photo were supposed to be seared "medium," for 15 minutes... They got demolished. Black as tar. I won't fault the burner for this, I am not using it for its intended purpose, just something to be aware of. It is rock-stable and very well protected from wind gusts, in my experience. Other problem... The gas/air mix "dingus" poking out from under the burner. I don't understand why it's so big, or why it is situated where it is. I'm glad to have control over the air mixture, but the design is clumsy, having to use screws to "tension" the sheetmetal adjustment plate. There's a review that mention the gas input snapping off, causing a massive fire. I don't see any sign of weakness, my bet is that these people kicked the hose, or stepped on it... but you can blame the lousy positioning, lousy design. Next issue... Why did I have to spend $20 extra dollars buying a cover? Why wasn't this included? Competing burners include covers. The cover doesn't fit well because of the gas input jutting out. Lastly - The black coating is weak, wears quickly. As other reviewers mention, this thing STINKS! Weeks of almost daily use I see a lot of the black coating has burned away, about 1-2 cm under the contact point where the pan sits. This coating is probably the source of the odor! I assume these areas will rust, I'll just keep an eye on it, oil these areas up if I ever put it away for an extended period. Overall I am happy with it, but, for the money, after comparing it to everything else here on Amazon it should include a storage cover, maybe even an igniter (which I had to add myself.)

Sturdy

I use this outside to pressure cook. It quickly gets to my desired pressure, but I could not get it to a lower heat range without the flame going out. This was not an issue for me, I simply put two pieces of angle bar across the grill frame to raise my pot 1 1/2 inches. The pressure stayed in the correct range, below 12 psi.

ALMOST CAUGHT THE HOUSE ON FIRE!!!

Would strongly recommend you DON’T buy this burner!! I used this for about 30 minutes and the hose broke off and it was shooting flames everywhere!!! There was a 5 ft fire ball coming from the hose as it detached from the burner. I’m out money and a burner now. Seller will not refund me... what a waste of money. Also the air vents are completely trash, they are so flimsy they barley stay where you want them. This unit also came damaged to me. The one leg was completely bent I had to bend it back. The packaging is very poor for what it is. Don’t waste your time or money with this product, is a safety hazard for one, and is very poorly made

Chauffe très vite.

J’ai essentiellement acheté ce réchaud pour faire bouillir du homard. Après 5 à 6 cuissons, la puissance semblait s’être estompée; j’ai débranché le réchaud, je l’ai retourné à l’envers et j’ai constaté qu’il y avait des vis qui étaient « loose », j’ai resserré les vis et le réchaud fonctionne comme le premier jour. Je suis très satisfait de cet achat.

Sturdy, high output, gets the Jeff b done efficiently

I’ve owned two previous “turkey fryers”. Both don’t hold a candle to this unit. This is a commercial grade product from burner, to hose, to stand. Don’t buy an imitation. This is worth the little extra believe me! Had I purchased this first would have saved myself money. As previous two were cheap. This thing boils down maple sap quickly. Highly recommended.

Bought this for doing tomatoes, using a 100L pot very strong, lots of BTU, commercial grade my only negative comment is that it is hard to see the flame, if you are running low or trying to adjust, I needed to move the pot a bit pricey but I did not find anything that was as good would but a Gasoline product again

Muy buen producto, solo considerar que la conexión del tanque es para rosca externa (usa) y en México los tanques de gas son de rosca interna, en mi caso no tenía y compré uno de 10kg con ambas roscas y funciona de maravilla
