So this device measures salt level in your water softener. These should be built-in but they aren't. So this mounts in the cover, and uses a optical measuring of distance of salt level. You set a warning and alarm distance, and the device connects to 2.4Ghz WiFi to send you a text and/or email when the level gets low. It works well, with same caveats. First, you need a 15/16" hole in your brine cover, BUT NO drill bit is included. Second, its cloud-based, so you need to create an account, so if the company goes out-of-business, the warning alerts will stop. Finally, will salt get up through the hole and damage the electronics? Don't know, we will see. But for now, it is working very well.

Just Perfect...................

Have rental in another state that has water softner installed. This product lets me see when salt needs to be added. That way I can know when have someone add the required salt. Device is small - easy to install and set up. Through app - real time salt level can be seen from anywhere. In addition, notifications can be sent based on 2 salt levels in the tank. You enter the levels when the notifications are sent. Nice product.

Good designed product. No issues following instructions or connecting to wifi. Minus 1 star due to no smart home integrations, ie: Alexa, Google home, smartthings, etc.
