So far so good
I am always a bit skeptical about aftermarket controllers, especially from Doorman… sometimes they are good, sometimes not. I took the chance on this because the original one started blowing cold when we called for heat, etc. (2004 Suburban). It’s been in for almost 6 months and so far no issues. The only complaint… compared to the rest of the dash, this is insanely bright. Small price to pay for working heat and a/c

Great warranty replacement
Display started becoming so dim we could not see to adjust unit (reason for only 3 stars) and had to contact Dorman to work out a reply. They put me in contact with their Amazon representative who processed a replacement right away and has it delivered within two days.

Fixed my Ac issues
Installed in 10 minutes on my 04 Avalanche. Fit and finish is great and everything is working now like it should. Highly recommend

Perfect Replacement for 2007 Silverado 2500 HD
I did not realize how bad my old unit looked until I got this new one. What a difference! The OEM unit had lost all of its lighting and I purchased an LED kit to replace them myself. However, after replacing the bulbs along the bottom none of them would light. Double checked my work, added power manually to each bulb, to the string of bulbs, and no matter what I did the LEDs would not light when plugged into the car even though they worked fine during manual testing. So after a couple of hours of frustration soldering and resoldering and testing, I threw in the towel and purchased this Dorman unit. It immediately came to life and appears to work exactly as they old one did, except it looks brand new and now lights up! I did notice the buttons are a bit stiffer than the OEM, but the OEM was 16 years old with over 260,000 miles under it, so maybe they just got "softer" over time? Well worth the money.

I had to exchange this part because the back lighting was too bright. Called technical support at Dorman and they told me to exchange it for the reman unit to get the green tinted one. Love the new one.

Very bright
LED back-lit are very bright, much brighter than stock. It's not bad! It works perfect. My oem one wouldn't get to the correct temp with the knows. This fixed everything

It is cheaply made but it works
Changes temperature. You have to really increase the temp to notice a change. But it’s better than having one side stuck at full cold all winter

not working like the original
bought this to replace the one in my truck and the fan switch on this one works different than the old one. on the old one i just had to hold it in to increase or decrease fan speed this one i have to keep pushing it repeatly

Like others have said, unreliable junk.
When it works, it holds temperature better than the OEM unit. The fan constantly changes in response to temperature and sunlight changes. The recirculate function does a great boost and I was pleased. Then… Nighttime: the backlight for the buttons is blinding and doesn’t dim well. The temperature display is exactly like the factory version so is simply overpowered by the brilliantly lit buttons. It doesn’t work exactly as the original: On the original, pressing Auto shows you the airflow and fans current settings. This does not. 1st one: It then only worked for 2 days before needing the power removed and a full reset. Another two days, same thing again. Dorman tech support very responsive, he knew exactly what it was and advised it was a defective unit and to return it. Yes, these things fail so often that tech support know the problem 2nd one: drained car battery overnight, flickering display sometimes 3rd one: drained car battery overnight, returned for refund Don’t buy this thing! It’s not worth it.

works perfectly
Ad on amazon said it was used with a slight blemish on the top, but when we received it it was brand new with no noticeable blemishes. I installed it in 10 minutes and it works great. Couldn't ask for better. The only thing I would suggest to the seller is that they tape the cardboard box up because it was nearly open when delivered to us.
