This could be the last purse I ever need to buy! (Updated almost 6 years after original purchase)

I'm picky about purses--what woman isn't? They are either too big, too small. The straps too long, or too short. There are never enough pockets or there are so many you can't remember where you put anything. Buying a purse online is difficult. But you know that. I was looking for very specific things: -The Strap: I despise adjustable straps, so it had to be a set length but I'm tall (5'8") so that is a challenge in and of itself at times. This one is about an inch shorter than what I'd prefer, but it's workable and it stays on my shoulder. -Pockets: As I said before I've never owned a purse that gets this right--but this one comes close. I wish the pockets on the ends were a bit more functional--however, my Galaxy S4 does fit snugly enough in them that I'm not afraid it will fall out. The zippered pocket on the outside is just the right size for holding cards, license and the never ending loose change. There are two pockets that are sewn into the inside without zippers and one zippered pocket inside--all of them are about the perfect size. -The 'inners' in general: This is not a bottomless pit that many purses are now designed to be. How many times have you had to empty out your entire purse to find your keys? That wont happen with this purse. It's large enough to hold what I need it to hold without being so large that it allows me to keep EVERYTHING in it--which is good because I have a tendency to fill any purse to capacity! -Shape: This has a very clean look to it. It's not sloppy and doesn't turn into a puddle of fabric when it's set down. The boat like shape allows for lots of storage, but makes it easier to find things. Over all this may become my most favorite purse of all. I did remove 1 star for the strap length and while the inside isn't huge, I think I would have liked to have a divider that ran down the middle of the purse. But those are both things I can live with and get used to. The color was true to the picture, and the quality is definitely there. I had my doubts at first about the zipper but after a few weeks of using it everyday it's holding up great. --------- Update at 18 months I had to up my review by one star. You see, I recently received notification that LH had commented on my review (thanks!) and it made me curious. How long ago did I buy this purse? Over a year and a half. That's a long time for a purse--any purse--to hold up. I still LOVE IT. I'm not a 'girly girl'. I don't switch out my purse to match my shoes or my outfit. For me a purse is a functional accessory, not a decoration. So what does that mean? It means that I have used this purse EVERY DAY over the last 550 days or so and it still looks great! The two unzippered pockets inside haven't stretched out. The one zippered pocket on the inside hasn't developed a hole where all of my small items fall into the black hole between purse and liner. The outer pockets have held up as well. It still doesn't turn into a puddle when I set it down. It still holds everything I need, with room for more. The main zipper has never malfunctioned or skipped. When I first bought this purse, I was really skeptical. Mainly because of the price. Honestly, I've never spent that much on a purse before. This is a true case of getting your value worth! I can't say enough good things about this purchase. All in all I plan on using this until it falls apart. And at the rate this is going, that will be a long, LONG time from now.... ----In November of this year I will have had this purse for SIX years. It's showing it's age, it's a bit droopier now than it was--aren't we all? (HA!) and the seems are showing a bit of wear and tear. The liner is still intact, the zippers all work, the pockets haven't torn. I think I might die before this purse does!!!

Great everyday bag

I purchased this bag for my wife for Christmas, it was one of the few items on her wish list. She enjoys the inner pockets as well as the ones on the sides which are perfect for holding her phone and sunglasses.

Not too bad for everyday

Even though I purchased this some time ago. I decided it was time to write a review. This is my second time purchasing this item. My review will include a story as well as the pros and cons of this utilitarian purse. The story behind my repurchase of this item is a doozy. My puppy had to have a canine tooth removed. She was still groggy from the procedure so on the way home some merry mayhem ensued. Half way home of her sleeping on my back bench of my vehicle I notice her staggering to the front of the car. With no way to pull over I assumed she was just becoming alert. But no! That's when the unimaginable happened. Chaos, pure and simple. She began spinning in circles and then it happened. She pooped right in my purse. It was a ghastly experience. So needless to say I had to clean it up, which I will say it did nicely. However, as luck would have it I left my purse in the car on a park adventure. And it was stolen. Yes, you read that right my cleaned up pooped in dog purse was stolen by some heathens. Needless to say I received a giftcard for my birthday and decided to rebuy it again. I do like the size of the bag and the ease of pockets. The only downside is there is no adjustable strap for crossbody so it can be cumbersome if you walk around a lot. It would nicely fit some bricks in it if you wanted to wield it as a weapon. But I digress. I would recommend this purse. Just don't let your dog poop in it as it apparently becomes cursed.

"Trim" includes bottom of bag and shoulder strap

I received this bag a few days ago. It's a great bag, and I really like it. That being said, it's about 50% leather and 50% polyurethene. It is described as 100% leather with polyurethene trim. That's why I am giving it 4 stars and not 5. I did read that polyurethene fabrics are very durable, so I am hoping this bag will hold up for a long time. Nonetheless, the advertising should be more accurate. After I got it, I looked it over very carefully, and went back to other customer reviews for feedback. My first concern was that the shoulder strap is definitely not leather, although some of the reviews said it was. Mine is not. The body of the bag is indeed leather, and has that leather smell. The bottom of the bag and the strap does not smell like leather, and the pebbling is distinctly different. It's subtle and I didn't notice it at first. I saw it on pictures other customers had posted. In the two-tone bags, it stands out much more. That's why I tried the "smell test" on mine. One woman posted pictures of the frayed strap on her bag. In one of those, there were hair like fibers coming off the strap. I have never seen leather do that, but polyurethene would.

Well-made

Nice quality purse (I purchased black leather). I have owned this same purse in other color many years ago. Now that cell phones have gotten bigger I do wish they made end pockets on outside just slightly bigger (my phone with slim case and pop socket still just bare fit in end pocket) and I think the strap could be just a tad longer. I hate purses that slouch and flop over when you set them down, and this purse solves that problem. I have had for about two months and I expect I will be able to use this purse for well over a year. Well-made.

Pretty decent shoulder bag...good size

The Sak Kendra is a good medium size shoulder bag. The only complaint is the outside pockets on each end could be a little deeper (upon lifting the pockets seem to pull making them get a little shallow) ...that said, my cell phone does fit. I am pleased that I got it for a sale price. I would not have purchased it otherwise. I have been using it for several months and it has held up well so far.

Best purse I own

I ordered this purse for the second time. The leather is so plush. This purse is so roomy but not too big. I just love it. I hate changing my purses because I love this one so much.

Great purse

Practical medium size purse . Able to find things easily without having to dig too deep . I rated it 4 out of 5 stars as I found that it does not sit well on your shoulders unless you have enough weight in it .
