Cartridge issue if replacing pre 2006

If you're replacing pre 2006 you'll need to use the top half of the included cartridge in this set with bottom of cartridge RP19804(purchase separate) this is the only possible modification that will work for older showers. I ordered the extra part. If it works Ill update. If not this whole thing is useless. Edit to add that the mod works!

I like that it not only looks good but is very simple and intuitive to operate. So my little kids or visitors can use it without any instructions.

Must have changed

I used this to replace an older almost exact same thing because I put in a new shower and wanted this style knob instead of the plastic style. For whatever reason the faucet cover in this one is much shorter than the older one and would not cover so I had to use the older one to complete the install.

Amazing Product

This product was what I was looking for and more. This included the cartridge for the shower which i needed to get. It was a nice surprise when it was included.

Trim Valve size

Great product for price and would have rated 5/5 but the trim valve is short by 1 inch. The delta set I was replacing needs a 3.5 trim valve. This comes with a 2.5. I had to place another order for just the trim valve to complete the install. Measure your length before buying.

Shows water marks

This trim kit works quite well in our new bathroom which was totally renovated. The reason I only gave it 3/5 is due to the poor finish, it is not really stainless and shows water marks quite readily. When I compare to our Moen faucet on the sink it is night and day difference. The Moen shows very little water marks and cleans very easy, however even after cleaning the delta faucet the water marks are not really disappearing, not appreciating the looks.

Also works with Delta 1300/1400 series valves

I purchased this trim kit to update my older Delta 1400 series with the crystal looking handle. While this kit comes with the cartridge to fit the Delta Multichoice Valve system, as long as you have or get a cartridge for the 1300/1400 series valve the trim kit is compatible. This meant we could update the look without having to redo the valve body saving a lot of time and money.

Can't tell if it is plastic or metal

I don't know why the description lists chrome trim as solid brass construction. The valve is plastic, the cartridge is plastic. I can't tell if the plate is metal or plastic. It sounds like metal, but feels like plastic. The handle is metal. Overall though it seems fairly solid. Delta valves always come with the cartridge. I see some of the reviewers indicate it didn't. If so I suggest immediately returning for a replacement, as delta replaces the cartridges for free, but good luck trying to find one to buy. Overall it seems better quality than the trim I'm replacing, and is still fully functional after 20 years. The only reason I replaced, is the old trim's cartridge does not fit the new rough in. But I like the chrome handle much better than my old plastic knob.
