Not bad, not good.

Radio works fine and I use it daily. The battery meter always registers full, and then I find the radio dead. I'm sure it's covered by warranty, but I doubt Amazon would deliver a replacement to a cruising sailboat, so I'm careful to charge it every day. My second complaint is that there is no spot for a lanyard. Other than that, it's great.

Belt clip weak

The belt clip easily comes loose when the metal clip is touched by clothing and it has fallen off my pocket three times. The clip also opens very wide making it easy to pull off of connected to a pants pocket or jacket pocket. Otherwise, it is a great product

I know my kids will be safe on their boat if Something Happens.

My daughter and her husband have a boat and they live in Florida. I always worry that when they’re out on their boat if Something Happens they won’t have a way to contact the Coast Guard or other means of contacting help. They are happy to add the marine radio to their safety equipment as they did not have one. I won’t worry as much now.

Great radio, works as it should…

There is a lot of hate for this radio on Amazon. Seems like sometimes people are getting a lemon product, however with Amazon’s return policy, that shouldn’t really be an issue. Like MANY other people, my radio works excellent. Sound is clear, it has decent range, and it is absolutely water proof. Make sure you test it out of the box, setup the warranty through Cobra, and your radio SHOULD be protected if something comes up. A few things I would recommend, take a moment to wipe down the radio (mostly just the battery terminals) and any seals after use, especially if it is exposed to salt water, but you should always do that anyway. Saltwater is harsh on things, even “waterproof” things. If the radio gets submerged, LIGHTLY blow into the mic to get any water out, that way your transmission won’t be a garbled mess. I can’t speak to the longevity of this radio, as I’ve only had it for a short bit, but so far it’s working great. I mostly use it for inland rivers and protected bays here in the mountainous PNW, and my range on High is very good considering the size of this radio. I was on the fence about this radio with so many negative reviews, but this thing seems like a good Cobra product, reliable, and practical for me (kayaker). I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this radio.

Going Strong!!

Have been using this radio all boating season. I go out on my boat quite often and have had no issues. The radio works as it should, communication is clear, lots of customizable settings, battery life is great (have only had to charge once this season and I keep it on for days at a time), very durable feel, and great accessories provided for charging or connecting to the boat directly. I am not able to comment on it's water proof abilities as I have not submerged it and don't plan on doing so but the feel and performance so far leads me to believe it wouldn't be an issue. I would purchase again!! Great bang for buck.

Battery lifr indicator

I use this product for hunting with a group of guys it all works well but the reason it got 3 stars is the battery life icon means nothing. When the battery is low but showing full when you hit the push to talk button it will die and then come back on so you cant transmit

A very well made radio,good size battery and charger,good instructions yet to be used out on boat but ticks all the boxes.

Good product but could use an update.

Good product. Does what is expected. I just wish they would update it to allow usb type charging. As it is you need ac power or dc from a car cigarette lighter. It's time to join the rest of the world and go to a usb system
