Great Tools for Jobs Requiring some Finesse!

I am a tool lover and bought these even after reading some negative reviews about their being flimsy and breaking. They are good quality tools and they are made to be thin enough to get into small cracks in order to pry up auto trim. You have to use your head and some finesse with these tools. I can see that if you crank hard with only the thin edge catching, you can break the tools. But that's not the tool's fault! You need to use the thin edge to work the tool in far enought to get the thicker parts to catch the pressure from any torque. They are GREAT for that. The thicker plastic away from the thin edges gets sturdy real fast. I also bought an additional set of metal tools for the heavy cranking that sometimes needs to be done on metal pins and snaps, but these are great for easing off that nice wood veneer covering your car console or dashboard, or jimmying the plastic parts of your car that would easily be scuffed up with harder tools. These are terrific tools and they do a great job for me!

Sturdy & Flexible - Very useful tool set

I purchased this for a single project - to replace the hood emblem on my BMW. Little did I realize how handy these tools would be on my vehicles and for other household projects. I wish I bought these years ago. I chose this specific set for its variety of tool sizes and shapes. I have only used about half so far but I know I'm pretty well equipped regardless of what project I may find down the road. I was worried about how cheap the plastic would be and susceptible to breaking. These tools are made of a pliable yet durable plastic that has give in it while you are working the fastener. Once you have worked the tool into place as far as the fastener permits, you are able to work the fastener out of its mount without damaging the tool or your project. This is a great buy of a great quality tool set.

Wish I had bought these sooner

For years I have removed interior trim with various prying devices covered with electrical tape. This works okay, with some scratching as the tape moves, some breakage as a screwdriver doesn't have much prying force, etc. In contrast, I used these to take off door panels on a 2007 4Runner and they worked GREAT! They are bigger than they look in the photo, smooth, slip under trim and then easily have the shape and leverage to "pop" off the fasteners w/o any damage. Having a set of these on hand is a no-brainer, and I just wish I had purchased a set years ago. I picked this set because they were pretty cheap, I don't think you need to spend more based on the quality (pretty good) and fact if you really need to put a lot of leverage or force on these you are either doing the job wrong or have the wrong tool for the job.

DIY Made Easy!

I am not even an amateur installer when it comes to cars, and my knowledge about electrical systems in cars is limited to the 12V voltage of the battery. That being said, with the help of this set, I managed to install four new Boston Acoustics speakers (SC95 and SC65) into my Jeep without damaging or scratching the dash or door covers. That should say enough about the quality of this set in the hands of a newbie like me. Although the tools are made of plastic, they are not going to break under normal pressure and bends. The price is also very reasonable, and if you do any kind of custom work on your car, or you just want to hide your new GPS cable underneath the dash, this set is going to help you save some time and some unavoidable cursing along the process. Excellent price for the tool set

Wasn't able to find these tools at my local auto parts store. Didn't want to pay the prices at the auto specialty store so I ordered it thru Amazon. Excellent price for what you get. Tool set was larger than I expected. Despite it's chunky appearance, the tools did the job well. I only needed to use 2 out of the 5 tools. I have a 2004 Honda Accord EX. Used the tools when I replaced the center storage unit and installed an iPod adapter. I love that I didn't have to prep and tape up the molding. These tools won't scratch up the metallic parts of my car where the silver can easily flake off.

Gets the job done

The tools are made of a fairly soft plastic to ensure that it doesn't scratch, so if you try and use just the tips of the tools they will bend and possibly break. The key is to keep working the tool into the crack as you pry out a panel, and use multiple tools to keep parts of the panel separate as you work your way around the edge of the panel. Removed the center console of my Kia in less than a minute with these and absolutely no damage to the hard plastic of the console or the softer plastic of the rest of the dash.

Works well but be careful

Used these tools to install a bluetooth car kit. The tools work well but you must be careful to insert the tools deep into the groves to obtain the proper leverage. Reviewers of similar tools have complained that the plastic tools easily break. However, they probably did not insert the tool far enough under the trim or molding to release the trim from its fastener. Unless the tip of the tool is far under the trim, the tips can break off. Also, the cover of the packaging snaps on and off, making it convenient to store the tools in the original packaging.

Works well but not great

First off, the tools were a lot bigger than I thought they would be. I was removing interior panels from my truck and I only needed two of these tools, but this bundle is such a value it was cheaper than buying two individual tools. The tool for pulling the panel fasteners could use some deeper slots. The fasteners Ford makes are very flimsy and the tops tended to bend up when pressure was applied. The tops even broke off a couple of them. That however may speak less to the usefulness of the tools and more to my skill at removing panel fasteners.

Worked well

Works great for removing the plastic panels in the car interior, helped me with removing the A-pillar and other plastic moldings in a Mercedes and Subaru vehicles to install bluetooth microphones in the headliner. It exhibits good design and material quality.

Worth it

Well worth the price to prevent cracking plastic moulding. I had to remove the cowling from under my windshield and these helped immensely, after cracking it trying to use a screwdriver, these popped it right off with no further damage or scratching whatsoever.

PURE JUNK

Pure Junk Might as well of thrown $18.00 into the wind I tried every piece that had an opening and not one would pull out a plastic fastener without breaking the fasteners. I already own tools that will do that. Good thing I ordered new fasteners at the same time.

Great Set of Tools

Big enough so that I can take the door panels off of my car with ease. Makes the job a lot easier and reduces the risk of breaking something. It would be nice if there was a pouch or carry case to store them in.
