I was looking for a reasonably priced professional set of dog grooming clippers and did a lot of research. The motor speeds are very good. I know these aren't the top of the line, but they are really a very good value in the A5 clipper category. The Wahl competition blades fit perfect and change out easily, so you don't have to buy Andis-specific blades. The clippers arrived new and clean in a sealed bag...no worries about a returned/used set. The cord is very long, which I like. I am able to slice right through a matted curly coat with ease (Havanese - cotton texture hair). The only negative point is it's weight; it is a little on the heavy side, but I'm ok with that personally. To me, it gives me confidence that it's a good piece of equipment, not a plastic-y trinket with a toy-like feel. If you have a lower quality set of clippers and cannot slice through your dog's coat with butter-like ease, try these. It comes with a 10 blade, but I changed it to a 7F competition blade and wow. My dog's coat is even and feels velvety. It will reduce your stress and your dog's stress as well, which is key for an excellent grooming experience (and affects future experiences, too). I am very satisfied with this purchase and hope you will be, too. All the best.

Golden retriever

We have a golden retriever and he was full of mats, we used this on him and went all the way down for summer because of the mats, it works so well!! It did get got a couple times but with the cooling spray we were back up and running in just a minute or two! We didn’t even have to worry about it cutting him, we went pretty lite at first and quickly realized that we didn’t have to be careful at all pretty much, and the rest went much faster. We tried using the attachments with it to cut it a little longer, and I’m not sure if it was because of the mats or the thickness, but they didn’t work to well. So we’ll see with the next time we go to trim him! But overall very impressed with it, and it seems to be very high quality!!

Might work on a babies hair

I bought these to cut my dogs hair and they didn't work at all. Last year, I bought a cordless Wahl pair of clippers that managed to cut my dog once, but they no longer work, so I bought these in hopes they would perform better, but these are even worse. Don't waste your money on these.
