I think I bought this watch during a black friday sale, but it's still around the same price it is now (give or take a few $). Back then I was trying to decide between this and the fitbit versa 4 (which was $150 back then). I definitely regret choosing this one, but I DO like some things about it. The good: The heart rate monitor/tracker actually DOES seem fairly accurate (on my watch at least), which surprised me. I mean, you def get a delayed response while working out. The rate always seems a bit behind of what it actually is at the moment but for the most part it does seem to get where it should be (like it seems to take a minute to reflect HR changes). Regardless, it DOES track it. When I’ve compared it to one of my more accurate SP02 monitors, it usually matches up pretty closely. From what I've read of the reviews of smartwatches in general, the HR function can be a real crapshot on many of them (barring the apple watch, which is often credited for being the most accurate). This watch connects to my iPhone 12 which is running the latest update, but it always takes a couple minutes to sync when uploading the latest data (that’s a long time!). I DO get texts, calls, push alerts etc as soon as I get them on my phone though. Well, MOST of them….sometimes (though not often), for no apparent reason, the watch seems to randomly miss some. I suspect it's b/c sometimes I have to delete for more space and/or the app needs to be connected at least once daily. The alarm and sleep monitor also work pretty good, as far as I can tell. Checking my sleep score is now always the first thing i do after the alarm wakes me up (fortunately, neither of these features have proven to be the least bit buggy). I also really like the PAI system. I didn’t think I was going to, but i’ve actually found it pretty motivating! Surprisingly, this is one of the features that I would really miss if I got a different watch! It's just another one of those reasons I never got around to returning this watch. Also has great battery life. ***UPDATE***: A few days after I wrote this review (right after the return window expired) the battery starting acting really screwy! I left it charging while taking a shower and when I came back I realized it was making a scary buzzy noise while charging (it wasn't hot, so I'm not sure what was going on). The battery life also got stuck at 72% for days! The bad: This watch is pretty buggy to the point where I’ve pretty much been on the verge of returning it ever since i got it. Because of this, I don’t think I’d recommend buying it (you might even be better off with a different "amaz fit" watch). Of course, maybe it just depends on what you want and your price range though (now that the fitbit versa 4 is nearly double the price it was last yr, i'll probably just end up sticking with this one despite all its issues). The screen on/off/wake functions are supposed to be adjustable, but aside from the first day, I don’t think it’s ever worked like it’s supposed to! My screen will only “wake” for like 3-5 secs no matter what I set it to (on all the time, 10 secs, 20 secs etc - it makes no difference what I set it to; it never changes from its factory setting). The wake function is also pretty delayed and has become less and less responsive as time has gone by. It’s at the point now where I actually have to physically press the side button (esp during workouts) to see the screen! Restarting the watch does seem to fix this for awhile. The screen brightness has gotten more and more screwy as time has gone by. I always have it set to auto brightness and it worked great at first, but now it randomly turns itself up to max brightness. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, i've noticed it waking and glowing at night when its set not to (and usually doesn't!). Restarting the watch doesn't seem to many any difference. To be fair, I never have trouble seeing it in sunlight, and the screen rarely wakes at night, so this is not as annoying as it might sound. The “find my phone” feature is unbelievably useless!!! This definitely DOES bother me. In fact, it might be the last straw. FFS this is a standard feature that most smartwatches have!!! That's probably why "amazfit" is trying to pretend this watch has it, but DON'T BE FOOLED! This watch cannot find your phone unless your phone happens to be already connected to the Zepp app when your watch tries to “find” it. And I mean REALLY connected (you have to have used the Zepp app fairly recently, not just have it running in the background!). Even if your phone is right next to you, it won't be able to locate it unless you've very recently synced. Literally EVERY single time I've needed to find my phone, I get a screen with a big picture of an X-ed out phone that says "phone not connected." So no joke, you have to find your phone and connect it to the app before your watch can find your phone (rendering it completely pointless!). Another issue: the step counter is not accurate and not as sensitive as it should be. TBH I don't care all that much (i'm active enough that I don't care about my step count) but I sometimes get obnoxious alerts telling me that I need to stand up, or sometimes stand up and walk, often despite the fact that I’m already standing up and have been walking around! Even more annoying is the fact that it sometimes gets this big count down/target on the screen telling me I need to take so many steps in so many seconds to reach some arbitrary “goal,” but i can (and have) run laps and most of the time it doesn't seem to register that i've taken a single step! There's also a weird bug in workout mode with the miles - this watch often congratulates me for going the wrong # of miles. It’s not a huge issue, cause it DOES eventually add up your supposed mileage correctly, but it's pretty strange. After the first mile it congratulates me for going 0 miles, after I hit 2 miles, it congratulates me for reaching 1 mile, and so on, but fortunately, the watch face will still show the correct miles. I can’t say how accurate the GPS is. It seems to count my milage a little lower than it should be, but I don’t know for sure.
