Best box fan I ever owned
Second Air King Fan box I have purchased and I only ever intend to purchase these from now on, might even get a spare just in case. The first lasted years and the only reason I needed to replace is it I used it as kicking bag when I was annoyed and eventually caused some rattling sounds. This box fan will literally take a beating and keep on going. I rated the noise level 5 stars because its as loud as a jet engine and blocks all other noise which is perfect for me as a night shift employee who needs to sleep during the day with other people in the house being noisy. This is the fan you need if you live in hot climates.

This is a beast of a box fan
I bought this fan to replace a much cheaper box fan for white noise to help me sleep. This fan is terrible for that purpose as even in the lowest setting its loud! I did give it 5 stars because it is a heck of a good fan and moves lots of air if you actually need to.

What you'd expect - sturdy, moves a lot of air, and makes a lot of noise
Thought I was purchasing a new product, but the label on the package clearly states Returned Merchandise. I don't even know if it made it back to an Amazon warehouse for an inspection before being re-packaged. It's only day 1 so I can't speak to longevity, but I purchased this to compare with a Lasko Cyclone Power Air Circulator that I picked up at Target. TLDR; the Lasko works better for my use (in an apartment), but I do like the Air King. I live in AZ and I'm working at home due to the COVID pandemic. I'm home almost all the time and it's currently July. 2nd story apartment with concrete/brick walls, a large kitchen/dining/living space with a high vaulted ceiling, and no ceiling fans. There are only 3 air vents in the entire apartment and they pump out ice cold air, but there's just not enough coming out. AC runs 24/7 at the lowest setting and the temperature averages 82-84 °F from about 10am until 2am. Blinds and windows are closed almost all the time. I need something to help circulate air, that I can run while watching TV, cooking, sleeping, etc. I purchased the Air King to circulate air through the large living space. It does this very well, but there are some draw backs. 1) It's loud. There are 3 speed settings, whereas the Lasko has 4. The Air King on high moves more air, but it's louder on all settings. As far as volume is concerned, the Air King on 2 is about the same as the Lasko on 4. 2) As expeced, it's industrial. I believe it will last a long time and take a beating in this heat, unfortunately, it's missing one small detail. There are no feet, so if it's set on a slippery surface the fan speed will slowly move this across the surface. I thought I would leave it on a TV tray table at the end of the room to get it off the ground, but it vibrates right off. I will need sticky tape or friction pads. 3) Compared to the Lasko, there's no features. No remote, no digital timer, and there is no base that allows you to tilt it. I knew this when I purchased it and I'm indifferent to the lack of digital controls - I was excited to plug this into a smart outlet so I could control it with Google. Unfortunately, after using it these missing features make a big difference - especially the lack of tilt. Ignoring the Air King's speed setting of 3, the Lasko feels like it's pushing out a similar amount of air, does so with less noise, can be tilted (or wall mounted), and has a remote. On the highest settings the Air King noticably pushes more air. Both box fans push far more air than my standard oscillating fan. If I was using this in a garage, on a worksite, or outside, I'd take the Air King every time because it feels much more durable and pushes more air on high. That being said, to circulate air in a large, hot, AZ apartment I'll take the Lasko every time. The features and noise are a good trade-off for the slightly reduced air flow.

Performance and measurements: Air King vs. Standard Lasko Box Fan (3733)
I am happy I got this fan. Here is a comparison of this fan versus a standard Lasko 20" box fan (Model 3733) commonly found in home supply and discount stores: The Air King is wider/thicker at 6.5 inches versus 4.25 for the Lasko. The housing seems to be a bit heavier steel, and the measured weight is 9.7 pounds versus 6.4 with the Lasko. The Air King has a 3 prong, grounded cord versus the 2 prong on the Lasko. The Air King cord length is about 5 inches longer (6'4") than the Lasko. Both fans have 3 speeds. The noise with the Air King is a bit louder and higher pitched than the Lasko, but I did not find it objectionable one room away, which is how I use it. The blade balancing on my Air King is much better than the vibrating Laskos that I have. And I have 3 Laskos. Remember, the Laskos cost less than the Air King. Other information that I found (not measured, like the above) says that on high speed the Lasko puts out 1710cfm drawing 0.8 amps, and this Air King puts out 2163cfm at 0.9 amps. That's it. Hope it helps. Addendum, November 3, 2022: There is some useful power and current draw (measured) information from Justme on October 8, 2022 in the Questions and Answers. Also, there was some commentary about how reasonable the price is now. 1) It is a heavier, albeit louder, fan than many others. Also, the price has recently increased like many/most other things. I bought mine on July 25, 2022 for $42.89. Today, November 3, 2022, it is listed at $53.00. Doing the math, that is about a 24% increase. Keep the timing of purchase in mind when you are reading the reviews on value.

Good quality and effective
We purchased this to make an air filter. The airflow is perfect and will be very effective. It is also going to be a good addition for moving air when we need a fan.

Made in the USA and Metal Housing, Nice
I know this was more expensive than those all plastic models, but I will pay for made in the USA. I like the metal housing and 6 inches wide to fit in a window, especially when a lot of models have the turn knob on the top, this give you room for that. It is loud, but it pushes some air and thats what you want in a fan. The plug is not an issue, at first I thought like other people the plug would need to be forced under the handle but I quickly realized that is not the case. The cord is not wrapped around the fan, but instead it is looped and all you need to do is pull the looped cord out from the handle, very easy

Lots of air but noisy
I know noise is subjective but I’m not sure how anyone could call it quiet. It does move a lot of air and I suppose one can’t have quiet and lots of air at the same time. Seems very well made. Returned it due to the noise and replaced it with a Lasko.

2x Better Cheap Fan for 8x the Price
Needed a way to push my cooler AC air from one end of the condo to the other and the cheaper box fans just didn't cut it so I got this one. It manages to mostly do the job but the price is so much higher for a small increase that I'm on the fence about keeping it. The quality of the workmanship is better but I still have doubts that this will last even 5 years. It came packaged in a thin cardboard box without any kind of protection without issues and yes, the cord is wrapped from top to bottom under the handle. Not sure why people struggled to get it out but it took me 2 seconds. The cord should be a bit longer but that can be fixed with an extension. Overall I'm not very happy with the purchase but it mostly solved my problem so I'll be keeping it.
