Works GREAT!
I have this running the parimiter of a 1/4 acre pig pasture. This was easy to install and hook up. (this was my first fence energizer). I added a solar panel to the mix and it has been staying charged. When testing i am getting 7-9K volts depending on the charge of the battery. I have has this up and running for 3 months now. would definatly recommend!

A good unit with excellent shocking power and easy to install.
A good unit with plenty of power to control animals. This unit is battery operated (12V) and there is needed data that is not provided in the manual, so I collected the data myself. At 12.6VDC the peak current is 165ma and the average current is 30ma. With this info you can determine that a fully charged 10AH battery will last abt 10 days (prob a little less based on battery condition, temperature etc.). I added a 5W (280ma) solar panel to my system which should be enough to keep the battery charged.

Don't set up near electric gate
I set up my fence charger to the solar panel and battery that charge my entry gate. The fence charger must set up some radio interference because my gate stared acting up and stopping half open or closed. I moved the fence charger to another location and had to set up an AC transformer to power it. Now my gate works ok . The light on the front of the unit never did work to indicate if it was functioning or not. I did buy another Zareba 50 mile plug in unit. I may send this 25 mile unit back or keep it as back up.

Did not work at all.
Bought the Zareba 25 mile DC fence charger in June 2021. This charger was bought as a spare and wasn’t opened/used until June 2022. Much to my surprise the charger wouldn’t work. I followed the test instructions from the Zareba website and according to that site my charger was defective. Next I completed the return/exchange worksheet from their website. So it has been over a week without a reply. I guess that is a $139 lesson learned. This is the fourth Zareba charger I’ve owned and it will be the last.

Great fence charger for the money
Simple... hook up to deep cycle battery and get 10k bolts for 4-6 weeks of continuous use.

Picked it up from the mail and had it up on the fence about 10 mins two strands of wire charged kept in a bunch of curious naughty yearlings cows and calves. Great Product, fast shipping.
