Handle with care, but great product

The bottle and cap this acid is packaged in should not be used for this product. Take extra care when handling this as the acid finds a way to leak from under the cap and will destroy your skin -I learned that quickly. Otherwise, aside from the faulty packaging, it's a great product and does what it's intended to do.

Removes coffee stains easily

I had used a different brand for many years (Mrs. Smiths, I think?), but it no longer exists and I had difficulty finding an alternative. My searches typically directed me to cleaners to remove lime deposits rather than addressing coffee stains. Finally I have found this and it's as effective as my old brand at removing the brown coffee stains from my ceramic coffee mug, stainless steel travel mug, and the glass carafe of my drip coffee maker. I also use it on the plastic cone filter holder of my coffee maker; you can't see the coffee stains, but I can tell that there are lingering coffee oils on the surface that this cleaner removes. You still need to periodically descale your coffee maker with a descaler product or citric acid; this cleaner is for a different purpose and I am very happy with its effectiveness.

Beyond Expectations

I rarely flip over products but had to give this as many thumbs (up) as I could find. It literally was just delivered and used. I have a very nice hot/cold carafe that i used to use for both coffee and hot water. Coffee gets 90 percent of the use and over years (yes, years) the inside has become dark black from the coffee oils. In addition to mixing the storage of hot water, the stains no doubt changed flavoring of the coffee I source from all over and on which I spend considerable coin. It took a couple times, but just minutes overall, and the carafe looks brand new. I honestly almost tossed and replaced this carafe. That $50+ purchase was saved by this $7 solution. I couldn’t recommend a product more highly! In fact, I just ordered more, to maintain the shiny (again) innards of my carafe.

Clean Pot

The cleaner works well to clean our coffee pots. Often, the pots are left on and the coffee is burned into the bottom of the pot. Soap and water only go so far and never really clean them completely. This cleaner when left to soak overnight does a fantastic job and the pots come out looking like new. I would highly recommend this cleaner if you have dirty pots. They will look like new with a little work.

Commercial quality for the home

This is the same cleaner we use at my bagel shop on the giant coffee urns. It was recommended by the manufacturer and does not ruin the rubber seals like bleach will. It does a great job on the thermal carafes we use at home. Just soap and water after use will not get rid of the coffee stains but this will.

Stainless coffee pot looks like new!

I have a 12 cup stainless steel coffee carafe that was black from coffee oil stains. Used a whole bottle then filled the rest with water. Overnite it shines again inside! Will be a favorite!

Works a treat

I used this to clean the coffee strains from my Ninja Coffee Bar glass carafe and it works a treat. Used with a Addis glassware soft scrubber

Did not work in Stainless Steel Coffee Carafe

Followed all the instructions and additional information from other reviews. Simply did not work. I was so disappointed. Plus, I found the same product on another website afterward for less than half the price. Not a pleasant experience. Since then I tried a magic eraser sheet and wiped it around the inside of the carafe and the stains came right out right away. The water in the carafe looked like coffee after I pulled the magic eraser out the stain had been that bad and this liquid product didn't even touch it. Buy at your own risk, I wouldn't recommend though.

No effect on old coffee stain on my coffee pot

I have a glass coffee pot and use it daily for a long time. Coffee stains developed inside the pot. I thought this cleaner can remove the coffee stain. I soaked my coffee pot in it overnight and used a brush to clean the inside of the pot. No change. The stain remains. Repeated it twice. No luck.

Used it on my coffee maker along with a descaler and I did notice a discoloration in both liquid when it collects in the pot so I'm guessing this works. Haven't noticed a change in taste to be honest, though.

Helps make better coffee

I use this every week or so to clean my French press. The first time I used it, there was a noticeable improvement in the quality of the coffee. Getting rid of oil residues seems to benefit the flavor considerably.
