Strong magnet

Great Flexy magnetic picker-uper! Be aware of the large head!
Works as advertised, extremely strong magnet and very flexible rod that stays in the shape / direction that you put it. Be aware that the rod is solid pliable metal, as such if repeated opposing bends are made in the exact same spot the metal in this spot is going to become weak and eventually break. The handle itself is large enough to get a good grip on for precise maneuvering, while having a soft rubber coating that helps stay grippy with oily fingers / gloves. Be advised that the head of the tool is quite large and is not going to fit into tiny slots. There is a collar around that head that can be screwed off to slim it down a bit but this then exposes all sides of the magnet that might cause it to grab onto something you aren't trying to get. This is still a fine feature and not worth knocking off a star as the magnet would be much weaker if it were smaller.

I works, good for the price, but not exactly what I was expecting.
I was surprised to see that the flexible part of the tool is a solid metal rod made out of some bendable nonferrous metal. The magnet is rated to pick up 5 lbs (just over 2 kilos), but the magnet is recessed so that unless you are trying to pick up a very small item, it cannot make full contact with whatever tool you might be trying to retrieve. It did the job for me, but it took several tries to pick up a smaller deep socket I had dropped down the intake duct. The socket cannot weigh more that a few ounces, so I was surprised how tentative to the magnet was about holding on to the socket.

Strong and long and bendable
I’ve had this magnet for a year now. I’m a automotive technician. I’ve dropped bolts, nuts, sockets, even heavy wrenches and this magnet still picks it up! It’s very bendable and also strong magnetic pull. I can bend it and the curve I put in it won’t bend back unless I do it myself, which is great (no readjustment needed in tight corners). It hasn’t rusted and it’s very easy to clean off. I’ve used brake clean and it doesn’t effect the outer part of it at all.

Very strong magnet and works as described....
I work as a technician in Afghanistan and needed a tool like this for those moments when the unexpected screw, nut, or bolt falls in those hard to reach places. This tool has a very strong magnet and works as described.
