much better than I expected
I was initially looking for a lightweight double headed lead to go with a retractable so I can clamp to collar ring and harness ring. The retractable leash I had and others regular leashes I found all had very small clasps so double locking to both collar and harness rings always felt unsecured. When I received the Halti, it was just too heavy to be lead for, at least, retractable type leashes b/c it just ends up dragging on the ground. I was about to return it but decided to give it go without the retractable and found the Halti to be an excellent main leash on its own. It has three rings for adjusting the length, one at the base to half the length, one in the middle for about 2/3 length and one at Halti label end for a wrist loop. Both clasps are large so double locking to collar and harness was never an issue on one end. It's on the "heavier" side but I got use to it. One side of the leash is a very soft and comfortable foamy material and the other/outside of the leash looks to be very durable reflective nylon. And instead of double locking on one end, you can also use each end for separate locking to collar and harness. Which i found useful when getting the pup to not pull on leash b/c you can tug on the end that's locked to the harness to adjust pup's leash pulling.

Very convenient - frees hands. Sturdy and nice to touch

Versatile, and helps control my puller
This leash is my new favorite to use. It's very well made, securely sewn and sturdy. The clips on both ends allow me to hook it to the back of my dogs harness and the front, allowing for better control. I can also wear it around my waist with my good dog (the one that doesn't pull) and be hands free. Super happy with this purchase, the blue color is beautiful too!

Thick, stiff nylon leash. Double ended leash
Not what I expected, i have other halti double ended leagues and they are soft. I prefer that over to this think nylon type material, which hurts my hands when walking the dog for a long time. This leash is nice and I will Keep it, butnn bnb it won’t be used for long walks. Its nice that it has clips on both ends so you can use it as a hands free leash or even walk two dogs.

Are they both Halti leads?
I bought 2 “Halti” leads, one in red for my own dog and one in purple for my daughter's dog! There was a difference in price but I assumed the purple lead was more expensive because of the colour. When they arrived the purple lead had a fabric backing to it while the red one was just webbing! Also the clips on the purple lead were bigger and chunkier! The brand logo was also different on each lead. I have kept them both as they are sufficient for my needs but I’m wondering if either are actually ‘Halti’ leads as they are so different although the Halti label on the purple lead does show an R in a circle indicating a trademark brand which the red one does not!

Comes unclipped when my dog shakes her head
I've had this lead for a couple of weeks now, and quite liked it until recently... the lead bit it's self is thick and sturdy with a nice soft neoprene inner which I found nice to hold, good length, which is great for training and reflective for dark nights and mornings. Ace. However, the clasps come unfastened when my dog shakes her head, which kind of makes all the previous good points irrelevant really, if it won't stay fastened its pretty much useless unfortunately. I've had to send it back, I contemplated buying some mini screw-gate carabinas to replace the clasps, because I like the lead, but Halti should really fix this problem not me.

Nicely padded but beware of the clip
I really like the length of this lead and the positioning of the D-rings. As a dog trainer I use lots of leads on many dogs. I have encountered the one problem with this lead. Four times the clip has undone when my dog has been wearing it. That’s 4 times she could have run off and got hurt. I have tried the clip facing both ways, it makes no difference. I have used many leads and on her harness and this is the only lead this has happened with. It’s such a shame when the lead is lovely.

So nice I bought it twice
We bought a black halti lead for our spaniel, she pulls a lot so the double ended lead really helped with adding an extra point of control. Following that I purchased this red version so that we could rotate between 2 depending on which was cleanest etc. unfortunately, the spring on the clip must have broken - twice she came free, the clip on the lead literally flew off of her collar - I’m sure this isn’t a reflection on all of their products and we’ve just had a bad experience but in this instance she ran across a road and it was a real nightmare! We were able to get her to come back to us but we’ve lost all trust in this lead now which is a shame

The clip isn't very robust - dog shook himself off lead
Unfortunately I will never be buying a Halti lead again. We bought one of the red training leads previously and had a similar issue - we assumed it was a manufacturing error - but now this is the second Halti lead with the same issue. Essentially my dog was able to shake himself off this Halti lead (which seemed at first more robust as was a bigger clip) and presumably the shaking motion means the clip becomes loose enough to come off (maybe not a tight enough spring in the clip mechanic?). This led to a 1 mile chase along the Thames Path in Greenwich of a juvenile Shiba Inu with bad recall (approx 12 kg, so not a mega large breed) which was entirely avoidable (we always keep him on lead in built up areas). Thankfully we didn't end up running after him on any roads with cars. We have had better longer lasting leads from Lidl for half the price (unfortunately the other lead got worn out and we haven't seen similar back in stock so we had to find an alternative).
