Really fun and lots to do!
I recently got into Tamas as a way to stay off my phone/internet/social media. I’m an adult and wanted a short mind break from adulting occasionally throughout my day. I have the 90s versions and I honestly didn’t think I’d like this one - I thought it’d be too cutesy and too much going on. I actually love it though! Beyond feeding/bathroom, the other features give you more to do with your tama. I like that they’re not required though, and you don’t feel forced to do every single feature every hour if you don’t want to. Also the addition of a sitter for work hours is AMAZING. I wish they all had this. The buttons do get weird, like other reviewers have said (and it’s not bc I don’t know how to work buttons like these). Sometimes pressing the B button triggers the C action. If this happens I let the device go to sleep and then wake it up again. It also helps to have dry, clean fingers. Sweat makes it more difficult. Note: I added a cover to protect from scratches and I changed the faceplate bc I hated the over-the-top girly pink. I wish the party had toned down colors/designs like the green pix. Not sure about battery life yet. I’m on day 5 with Energizer batteries. I have rechargeable ones for when these die. I wish the device was rechargeable, it’s 2023, the tech is easily available.

Easy Intro to Tamagotchis
I've had my pix party for nearly a year now (i got it for myself for my 30th birthday last summer) and i still love it like when i first got it!! the party feature adds a lot of additional gameplay compared to the original pix but the same charm and all the same raisable tamas except for 1 "boy" and 1 "girl." the sitter option is great if you have work or school as it takes care of your tamagotchi from 7am-7pm and only costs one minigames worth of gotchi points per day. the only thing i dislike about modern tamas is theyre gendered unnecessarily. my paintotchi is a blob of paint.. thats not boy-specific. other than that its a blast!! full color, the training for jobs once they leave for their home planet changes based on what you do on the device, and if your friendship is high enough you have the option of keeping them forever as they dont grow old and die in this model! turning the brightness down helps with battery consumption and theres an option to turn the sound off too but id definitely recommend getting some rechargeable eneloop AAAs for continual use as the camera does drain the battery quickly. i personally really prefer using rechargable AAAs instead of a USB-c port because if the batteries wear out i can just buy new ones instead of having the entire device die because of a dead internal battery i likely cannot replace myself. rechargable AAAs is a lot better for device longevity and im not looking forward to the possible "upgrade" to a charger port. Edit: I'm coming back to review the original Pix since I know own all the shell colors and amazon doesn't let you review the Pix and Pix Party seperately which is a shame since they're a fair amount different. I've heard a lot of people hate the faceplate designs on the Pix and I personally really love the purple and green shells. The Pix (and the party) are really lightweight and fit awesome in my hands. it has easily the best hand feel out of any tamagotchi model i own. the click of the camera is really satisfying both in feel and noise. being able to turn the brightness down and sound off is a must for me since i suffer from migraines but get really bored stuck in the dark all day. its nice to be able to check on my tama when i cant do anything else. i do wish the brightness had a few more options as the lowest setting still feels brighter than it needs to be to see it but there might be hardware/software limitations im unaware of. I LOVE the touch buttons. I know this may come as a surprise since so many reviews dislike them and I honestly hated them at first but once I got used to them (didnt take much use, just some trial and error) I prefer them to traditional buttons. I'm autistic so when I'm feeling a sensory ick it's nice to not have to feel the whole button and press down hard. just a light tap or swipe does everything I need. i also just love petting my tama. it feels really immersive! changing the faceplate is possible if you dont like the design but be careful! you might scuff the shell a bit getting it off. One of my biggest complaint about tamagotchis versus other Vpets is they aren't usually designed with a faceplate change in mind. this is really annoying considering the amount of the consumerbase that ends up changing the faceplate or customizing their tama in various ways. im not going to review them here since this is just for the device but i made myself a fuzzy spider shaped case i love to pet when i play with it and theres many other soft/fluffy/fuzzy case options on etsy if you don't like silicone.

Tamagotchi Pix! Your Little Buddy!
The media could not be loaded. The Tamagotchi Pix is adorable and a lot of fun! You can use the camera to take pictures of color to paint furniture, create food, and explore with your Tama. Coming from gen 1 Tama's this blows my mind. Though once I learned about the Tamagotchi On, I had to get my hands on one, paid a lot. Now comparing, (even without the On app) the Tamagotchi On is way more fun, packed with more things to do, customize and with REAL buttons. Wish these two were put together. Maybe the next gen will be better. All in on, if your coming from the On, stay with it until the next gen which should come out sometime this year of 2023. If your coming from gen 1-2 like me and not wanting to marry/play with genetics... then the Tamagotchi Pix maybe for you, though battery life and buttons have some issues. All and all both devices are fun and adorable! Watch my vid for info. Hope this helps in your decision.

Love it!
As a 90s kid i am enjoying this toy more than my 10 year old hahha but its super cute, smart, colored screen, some addtl features like connectivity to friends'. Of course the camera is very low pixels and tamagotchi runs out of batteries all the time quick (wish had a wall plug to charge feature instead), but those are minor things. Its a lot of fun! We also got a matching blue carry case and silicon protective case(but silcon case presses on camera and limits function, so ditched it, but only kept the carrying case which was great).

A fun, Solo experience
A fun little Tama that you don't need to connect with others for gameplay! It works with a catalogue of QR codes, which you scan with the camera, thus you don't need a second Tama or a friend next to you with one to get the best out of the toy. It is suggested to get rechargeable batteries as with a lot of camera use, the batteries can drain quickly. Thus far I have gone 7 days without needing to change them. As for the 'next gen Tamagotchi', it's pretty basic in its gameplay. The daily rotation of games to play does keep it less stale, yet I feel like the Adult stays around for a while when I'm already ready to move on to my next Tama. It's a bit of a downgrade from the Tamagotchi ON, though at a fraction of the price, it's still worth the investment IMO.

Blast from the past!
Last time I played with a tamagotchi was like 15 years ago so I was super excited to buy one again. Super cool how they make them in colour now, and this one even has a camera (terrible quality but really cute idea). Been playing it for about a week now and I’m loving it, mostly because of the nostalgia. When I first used it to set it up, the three buttons weren’t working/responding to my touch which got me worried but then it started working after a few tries. Now they work fine, but Im not sure I like the fact that they’re not the push down physical buttons that the old tamagotchis had. I actually really like how bulky this tamagotchi is compared to the old smaller ones, but that’s just a matter of preference. It’s not as heavy as you’d expect it to be for the bigger size, it’s still pretty light. Wish it would have came with a keychain, because I might decide to buy one separately. Even in my busy adult life I’m able to find little moments to checkup on my pet, because I was afraid it would die while I was at work (12 hr shifts and I don’t bring it with me) but it’s perfectly fine, just needs to be cleaned up and given medicine. So what I’m saying is that even if you can’t commit to playing it all day like we did as kids, it’s still fine, which I’m really happy about. I totally recommend this toy, especially to people who played it as kids. Also just to add, the batteries lasted me two weeks and then I had to change them (without losing my current game), I’m now using rechargeable ones and it works fine.

Very adorable!
I had pre-ordered the Tamagotchi Pix in green but when I saw the pink one was on sale, it was too tempting to pass up! I’ve had it for about 24 hours and absolutely love it so far. I’ve been a collector for years and have quite a few in my collection, and this is one of my favourites so far. The buttons can be frustrating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a lot of fun. It does remind me of the Tamagotchi On a bit, but with more on-device features and without an app or gene mixing. It’s slightly larger than the On but is smaller than the Tama-Go. Apparently the battery life isn’t great, but Amazon has rechargeables at a great price, so definitely grab a pack to go with your Tamagotchi Pix.

The battery life still sucks.
I'm indecisive about what I want to rate this. I like it, it's cute. But the battery life on it is so insanely short. Just like the previous one. Makes it really hard to say it's worth your time and money.
