Effective training tool
I was very hesitant about getting a shock collar for my dog. The idea of shocking my dog felt cruel and horrible. However after 6 months of trying every other training method to get my dog to stop attacking the fence when the neighbor's dog was outside, I was out of options. My normally happy, well behaved dog would lose his mind and EAT the fence boards. Dude, come on. So I put this collar on him. I kept him inside and only let him out when I could monitor him with the collar on, otherwise I kept the collar off. It recommends not keeping it on longer than 12hrs, and it definitely looks pretty uncomfortable, but my dog didn't seem to even notice he was wearing it. Even though he's long haired, I kept the default short prongs on. Anyway, as soon as he went out and launched himself at the fence, ZAP! I gave him a good BZZZZT. Even on the lowest setting he jumped back, gave a woof...and that was it. He no longer attacks the fence, doesn't respond at all when the other dog is outside even with the other dog barking. Maybe he's just smart, maybe I fried his brain, but it worked. He's been behaving a little more obediently ever since, too. He learned a valuable lesson...don't push your human too far or you'll get a good reminder of where you are in the food chain. Don't mess with us, we melt glaciers in our spare time. I still have the collar handy in case the behavior returns and we need more training, but I'm glad I finally bought this thing. It saved my sanity and my fence.

Life changer!
The media could not be loaded. This w collar is the best thing I’ve ever purchase for my dog. EVER. He is an 11 year old pitbull that has never had a good recall. He is the kind of dog that knows his commands, is obedient on leash, in our fenced yard, and obedient in the house. BUT the moment he can escape, he will! He has been this way since he was 3 months old. He will dart past, rush, and use any open door as an opportunity to run. He will run for miles and hours chasing squirrels, birds, cats, etc. and will quite literally ignore all attempts to recall. Now that he’s a senior dog, these escapes happen much less often, and he will eventually give up after he’s being chased for a while. However, we are getting a new puppy and really didn’t want her to learn from his bad behaviors. I researched for a few weeks before we decided on this brand. I figured if hunting dogs could be trained with this thing, so could my boy. Y’all, I can’t believe what this collar has done to my dog! Here are the PROS: -remote is easy to use and fits well into my hand -having tone, static, and vibrate are great options and avoid unnecessary static corrections as he responds well to tone by itself. Most times I don’t even need to press the tone button. -I use static levels 1-2, and he’s totally responsive. -range is phenomenal. Can go from one end of a park to the other and have control over him. -He no longer darts out the door. -I can walk him on a leash without his prong collar. -he can walk outside with me off leash and comes as soon as I say his name. -he can be in the run with our chickens and doesn’t even flinch when they come near. -on walks he is rarely, if ever distracted or interested in chasing ANYTHING -As soon as I take the collar off of the charger in the mornings. He is at my feet wagging his tail and waiting for me to put it on. He’s a happier dog now that he has so much more freedom! Now for the Cons: -despite following the collar adjustment guidelines, my boy developed sores on his neck. I would suggest checking regularly in case any develop. He was wearing his collar for long durations because I didn’t want him to escape and then not have the collar on to reinforce my training, thus destroying all of our progress. Once he became more reliable and trustworthy to respond to his recall, I now leave the collar extremely loose(so he can at least hear the tone), and adjust tighter when we go outdoors. -both collar and remote have to be charged nightly, or you risk it not being fully charged. I made the mistake of skipping one night. It worked the next morning, but was dead that evening when I needed it to be working. I can miss a night here or there, but if we will be out all day(using the collar),I have to charge it in the morning to be safe. I would recommend charging as soon as you remove it. -personally, the lanyard is uncomfortable hanging around my neck. I would much rather prefer there were a clip on the remote so that I can attach to my waistband. -there are times that I press the tone button, and it’s delayed in relating the beep. I notice this more often if I skip a charge the night before. -vibration doesn’t seem to have an affect on my dog as far as being a correction. -using this device requires already having a dog who understands basic obedience commands. You can’t just strap it on and start using static and expecting your dog to be an angel. *In the wrong hands, this collar can do more harm than good. It requires research and technique to properly train with e-collar* Overall: research e collar training techniques, be patient, and enjoy. Highly recommend!!

Doesn't work after 4 months
Worked great when it worked. After 4 months though the receiver collar won't charge or turn on.

Standard Version is plenty powerful. Stubborn dog is too much
This is a good product. When testing on myself, even on 1, the shock collar is quite unpleasant. At 3, my 85lb doberman squeals and runs away. I am glad I got the basic version. Stubborn dog variant would be a complete overkill.

Finally i can control my 100-lb puppy!
Our golden doodle grew so big, so fast, and is so full of energy and excitement that his training was useless. This e-collar finally provided the motivation he needed to focus and obey. He had become uncontrollable around other people, but now we've made huge progress in his training!

The best for stubborn dogs
I have a chocolate lab she is really smart but stubborn, this collar as far as I’m concerned is the best. I tried 2 other collars neither worked. This did she got it right away.

Expensive for the quality and nowhere near as effective as other collars I've had in the past
We've had a Sportdog collar in the past and used them with two very large and stubborn mastiff breeds and they worked extremely well and in both cases took less than a week to have the dogs to a point where they didn't need or even wear the collar anymore. Our old collar was broken so after we got a new mastiff we naturally spent the extra money to order another SD collar. In terms of quality, the quality of these newer SD collars is far below what it was before, cheaper, thinner plastic on both the remote and the collar unit and even the collars themselves were thinner a thinner and narrower plastic and to me seem more restrictive and less comfortable for the dog as a result, especially a bigger dog. I was shocked (no pun intended) that these were made by the same company although it's been a few years since we had the last one. In terms of effectiveness - admittedly our dog is stubborn and strong willed, but in the past we'd rarely need to go beyond half way in terms of intensity setting and it worked well and usually tone or vibration was enough - with the new collar, there is almost zero response or even an acknowledgement from the dog unless we max it out on shock setting and usually he just shakes his head and keeps going. The remote itself is poorly designed, no visual indication as to what the buttons do so have to constantly remind yourself which button is sound/shock/continuous so as not to accidentally shock the dog. We have tried the longer prongs and as mentioned have trained two other dogs in the past with older SD collars so not new to the training process, but this one is definitely not at the level of their older models. Not worth the much higher price in my opinion.

Terrible Battery Life
Charged to full, this thing is constantly on and uses the 75h battery life. It does not turn off on its own when not in use. I barely corrected my dog a few times in 2 days and the battery was dead. The packaging is also terrible, took me over 30 min to open with a pair of wire cutters. This is either a knock off or I got a lemon. Also, this is only for 1 dog, will not work with two, so you will need to get two units. With the charging issues so close to purchasing, this product is not as advertised. The chargers are flimsy and seem fragile I can see them breaking over time. This product is not worth $200, more like the brands for $50.

Range is realistically 1/3 of advertised.
Build, ergonomics etc all good, except 100m range is bs. Maybe if strapped to top of dogs head it may get close to that distance, but not under his neck. Generally dog is facing away from trainer when correction is required, which limits Consistent range to maybe 30 yds. Brutal.

Made my Pomski shriek and jump on the lowest setting
I had this on for a few min during a walk and the vibrate and tone barely got my dogs attention for a correction and the lowest setting of the electric stim make him bounce into the air and shriek. I had already tested it on my neck and wrist and felt it was fairly strong for a small god or any dog really and wanted to try it once to gauge his sensitivity and it was horrible for him. like he had been kicked. I don't suggest this for smaller dogs. Mine is a Pomski (11 lbs and 1.7 years old). It leaves you with no control if the fist setting (1 out of 7) is too intense. I know competitors have a wider range of stim and I will be trying the dogtra next. the sharpness of the points for the contact seemed very uncomfortable as well and I know others offer a smoother edge so you dog doesn't feel like their being stabbed. Again I wouldn't suggest for sensitive dogs or smaller dogs.

Amazing
This collar is amazing. It was suggested by a trainer, it has made such a difference in my little shih tzu. He used to bark at cars going by and was aggressive when he had things he shouldn't have ( plastic, paper, cat food). The collar has worked wonders on him has changed his bad behaviours and made him a much calmer puppy. I think it's important to know how to use this properly and set at the correct level.
