Best Pump Sprayer I've Ever Had
I bought my Smith R200 in Sept 2016 and it is now April 2023, and until I recently foolishly used this sprayer as unintended, it worked flawlessly. In fact, it still works but not as well as I became accustomed to over the past 6.5 years. All other pump sprayers I've ever had only lasted 2 years max! So, now I am going to buy a new pump sprayer, but because the Smith R200 has gone up a lot in price and I have found another sprayer with the same customer rating but with 63,000 more reviews AND it addresses the ONLY qualm I have with the Smith R200 and that being, you have to attach different spray nozzles to get different spray patterns with the R200, but the new only requires you to turn the nozzle to go from fine to coarse spray, which is all I need, and it is also less than half the price of the R200 (about what I paid for it in 2016). I may end up regretting my decision, and if I do I will let you all know.

Worked properly out of the box. Time will tell if it lasts as long as the American made version used to, eh?

Thought I Got a defective one
I purchased this last September on Amazon. I used it for the first time today (March 24, 2023). It wouldn't hold pressure and must be pumped continuously for any spray to come out. Called the company and they walked me through the proper seating of the tiny inner piece under the hose coupling and Viola! It works.

Great sprayer, terrible trap hooks
See if you can replace the hooks immediately. they will break or snap while you are hauling water

A pleasure
Spend the money and get it. I have been through so many crappy sprayers that it is a blessing now to get some trigger time with a real rig. I shoot roundup pro granules 1.5.oz mixed with 1gal h20 through this R200 and it's a pleasure. Buy the roundup 6.8 pound granule jug for the most cost effective way to make your killer. Spray it through this pro rig and you are a world class guy. I'm using the yellow tip and the spray pattern is perfect - executioner of weeds with precision. Thanks for making this.

It’s a well made sprayer
I’ve thrown away a fair number of economy sprayers, and thought I’d spring for something nicer than the cheapest thing I could find at my local big box store. Worth it. I’ve ended up with two of these. So far they’ve been problem free, and are as much of a pleasure to use as lugging a sprayer around can be. It’s very well made, and stands up to abuse. I thought about giving it a positive review a few times, but never got around to it. Then I ran over one of them with my gator at around 10 mph when it fell out of my backseat. It’s a 4 seater, my dogs were onboard, and I had a generator in the bed - it’s not light, so here I am - writing a review. I had to work a bit to remove the grass that was wedged into every nook and cranny, but it still works great. I obviously wouldn’t recommend running it over, but in my opinion - you can’t go wrong.

As good as I can find in a plastic world. Bottom line: it works!
Smith makes good sprayers. I still use one I bought 28 years ago. I trust the brand. That being said, I have to say I'm not impressed with the materials on this unit. It works. That's really significant since many of the new cheaper ones don't, especially if they say ROUNDUP on them. This Smith sprayer works well. It has a pressure release valve which is a very important feature lacking on the cheaper models. The seals have been reliable for 2 seasons, the cheaper ones I bought over the years all seem to fail the first season. The top is difficult to tighten on securely and more difficult to remove (I use a rubber mallet). Years ago they used more rigid and smooth materials which made assembly/disassembly easier. The wand is cheap but serviceable, also inferior to older brass wands and nozzles. Same applies to the pump mechanism and plunger. I am just guessing that Smith had to make a sprayer as cheaply as possible to compete with all the really really low quality sprayers in this walmart age where few things are made to last. Bottom line: it works, it has basic features like pressure release valve and a sturdier plunger, it pressurizes much easier than cheaper brands. The seals, valves, springs and external parts are working and in good condition after two seasons. A much better value than 2 cheap ones I bought at local box stores and had to throw away.

Great pump with fatal flaw - Don't buy if you want to use it for more than a few months
Let me start by saying that I NEVER write amazon reviews. But this problem needs to be known. First, the positive. The pump worked great initially. The sprayer is sturdy, the pressure is good and the wand is great. Unfortunately there is a fatal flaw that isn't repairable unfortunately. I'm talking about the pump assembly piece, the piece with the screw cap and pump handle. That piece allows you to pump pressure or screw the cap to the tank depending of whether it's locked or not. The fatal flaw comes from the materials of that piece. To unscrew the cap, you must lock the pump handle within the screw cap, then turn. The materials are made of soft plastic though. In a short amount of time (2-3 months of light use), they wear down and the pump handle slips out of the screw cap lock. That means that you cannot open the tank anymore! That means the pump is now completely useless. I've contacted the company for a replacement, and they told me that I had to unscrew the pump assembly piece after every use. I always release the pressure, but this is a first to me. They sent me a replacement piece thankfully (Took 1 month to receive it...), but now again the exact same problem is happening, despite strictly following their instructions and taking the greatest care. I don't want to contact them again, I don't have more time to waste and I now I need another pump unfortunately. The fact that the exact same problem happened twice with the piece tells me that this isn't a rare occurence. I really wished to like that tank, but I recommend you searching for another one, don't bother with that one, or you will be stuck with a useless piece of plastic.

Works good
Holds up to multiple person abuse daily for the past 6 months at a horse rescue. The added plastic base/tray (that holds the wand off the ground) is the reason I purchased due to staff dragging and setting the sprayer down on concrete and stone in which puts tiny holes in other types and this one has held up great. Could be cheaper but a good product overall. Recommended

Weak plastic design will break over a short time
It worked for a good few months. The handle/pump unit that threads into the body has a flawed plastic mechanism where the handle when depressed all the way down is used to thread the unit off and on to access the body. After a few dozen times of removing and tightening this the plastic parts have become weak rendering me unable to access the body now. I understand that it's easily user replaceable when given the parts but if the design did not rely on this mechanism alone a lot of shipping would be saved and these won't go into the trash from frustrated users like myself. For the future I think that using material more reinforced or implementing a different filling procedure should be considered as a design upgrade. Would not recommend.

Good Sprayer
I use it for spraying moss killer (my yard is a moss farm). Best feature is the filter which prevents the nozzle from clogging (a real problem with the old sprayer). Lots of useless (to me) nozzles -including a foaming nozzle(?), and some weird pressure regulator that even customer service can't tell me what its for...

Company unable to provide competent service
My unit came missing a valve that hold the pressure which made it useless. Contacted the company on May 26, was told a part will be shipped to me. Got nothing until June 17, called again, was told the part will be shipped that day, but no tracking yet, “why don’t you call the next day”. Waited patiently until today, July 13, still nothing. Called again, was told the part is shipping TODAY, 100% unapologetic, and albeit my complaints, keeping on asking: “Do you want the tracking or not?” Wow, I‘M so GRATEFUL that two months into the growing season, I’m finally gonna use the sprayer in another month!
