Finding the start of the thread
I noticed some comments about not being able to find the end point of the thread to begin unwinding. This is one of those spools that has a tiny slit on one end to tuck the thread end into, and that's where the end seems to be. Take a pin or needle and poke just under the slit, and the thread should pop out. I haven't tried this thread yet, but it's the type that Singer recommends to use for testing and setting the top & bobbin tension in the manual for a vintage model 15-91, so I thought I should have a spool on hand.

Thread is great, spool not so much
I’ve never used mercerized cotton thread before but boy the description is right it sews nicely. I used it to make some bowl cozies that go in the microwave, so I needed 100% cotton thread. My issue with this product is not the thread itself but the cheap plastic spool it was wound on. If I had an empty spool that this would fit on I would have wound it onto that but I didn’t. The edges were rough and the thread was catching on it enough to where it was effecting my sewing machines performance, something that I’ve never in my 20 odd years of sewing I’ve had happen. I ended up sanding down the edges so they were smooth and it wasn’t a problem after that but an unexpected and annoying inconvenience.

No synthetics to gum up a very hot iron
Hard to find item. I needed 100% cotton so I could bind my embroidery and still use a very hot iron.

sad just sad
Ive tried just about all there is to try when it comes to cotton black thread even hobby lobby at $24.99 a spoil and I bought some at JoAnn cheap and expensive and ALL broke the first time I tried to sew with it in my machine so I adjusted my machine many times thinking it was my fault. So I broke down and tried the Singer brand (after all my machine is a Singer Heavy Duty 44s) thought ok this will work great. WRONG broke after the first few stitches I sewed. Some well most my projects have to be 100% Cotton everything and it cant be if I cant find a Cotton thread that wont break on me. SO Im not very happy with my purchase at all.

Breaks easily
The thread is fragile so it doesn’t take much to snap.
