Hiking needs

The quality of the shoes out matches its price. The sole is thicker than my previous speedcross, but lighter in weight. The color can match any type of colored outfit and style. It perfectly fit my foot despite me being wide footer. Comfortable to wear, so using it in long hike would not pose any problem.

half size big

I've had many pairs of Salomon shoes but these, for some reason, are a half size bigger than expected. Other than that, very happy with these lightweight shoes.

Comfy, Well Made But...

Nice shoes for 80 bucks. Very stylish. I normally wear a men's 9 but ordered a half size smaller. There is a small degree of heel slippage but not extreme. After a few wears it's hardly noticeable. The backstay is a bit high and curves slight outward, thus catching the bottom of jeans or slacks...a bit annoying. Overall I'd give them 7.5 out of 10.

Shoes work great

The shoes were a bit big, but nothing I can’t handle. They are a really nice design, goes nice with a lot of my outfits. Very comfortable as well

Low back rubs on heel

I like these shoes overall, but even a half-size up from my regular they fit a bit tight and narrow. They started to get comfortable after a couple of weeks of wear, now they're fine except for the heel. The issue is that the material that cups around the back of your heel has a coarse upper/outer rim, and it eats the skin right off my Achilles if I don't wear socks that are a lot higher than the shoe. It hasn't softened after extended wear, so I guess it's a permanent "feature." If you like wearing ankle socks or skipping socks altogether, this shoe may not be for you...

Love Solomon shoes, these are my 2nd pair, I tend to use water shoes like these at home, because of comfort and practicality. They come with grey traditional laces, however I have paired these shoes with “Inmaker No Tie laces” and they look and feel like they should be made like this, can’t believe Solomon has not come up with this from factory. Great shoe for many uses

First off, the "black" colour is really a grey-blue (see attached photo comparing the shoe with my black sneakers) which I prefer. I got these shoes for a 4 month trip in South America where, as a minimalist, I wanted a footwear for walking city streets, hiking muddy trails, and yet stylish enough to wear to a nice restaurant. This Salomon shoe ticks all the boxes. The fit is a bit large, so I got 1/2 size down from my usual. Even then, it's roomy so maybe I'll need a bit thicker insole. They are very comfortable and provide pretty good support.
