Styrofoam
I bought this one because it was the more affordable one to help aide in my healing process. I was not thinking it was Styrofoam. It works but I think if you make a mistake and pinch it the wrong way the whole thing is done with. Would rather it be plastic

Effective but cheaply made for the price
It works great for assisting the proximal interphalangeal joint (PIP) into increased extension. It comes apart easily. Cheaply made, and to expensive for what it actually is. Falls apart easily. 3 stars because it made a tremendous difference in the progression of finger extension, otherwise it would be a lower rating.

Works but cheap
This works ok but it's only styrofoam so I don't expect it to last long. The design is worth the price but not what it's made out of.

Orthopedic surgeon approved
I stoved my finger badly enough that it caused a boutonnière deformity on my ring finger. The orthopedic surgeon called in a prescription for a similar splint from a local medical supply store. They took so long to get it in that an employee there pulled up this splint on Amazon & I ordered it right there inside the medical supply store. This splint is $20 lower priced than the one the medical supply store ordered for me, and they took 2.5 weeks to get it in. (I told them no thanks, I’ll keep this one from Amazon.) When I showed this splint to my orthopedic surgeon, he asked me to send him the link for it because he will have his patients order this splint instead of calling in to the medical supply store. At my follow up, I had worn this splint about a week & a half, and he said that my progress is as expected, doing well & keep wearing this splint 24/7 unless my hands are in water, for another 2 weeks or so. Make sure you’re following up with your orthopedic surgeon or other doctor. Just for the record, my finger pain intensified a LOT when I first started wearing the splint, and the swelling increased some too. My doctor said this is normal. The first few nights wearing it were so painful that I’d wake up in the night & take it off at some point. This will get better. By the 3rd night, I could wear it all night. If it hurts when you first start wearing it, take it off for breaks then put it back on. I’m able to do CrossFit with this splint on, modifying movements that require grip. I have to take this splint off to type. I can write with this splint on, but it sucks.

excellent splint
I'm a hand surgeon and recently started seeing these replace an older style that uses rubber bands. I have recently had the need to use one and it's very easy to wear and fairly comfortable.

Inferior to DeRoyal
Had a DeRoyal after a finger fracture. Needed a backup. This was less expensive. Not as well made, less comfortable. Should have spent the money on the DeRoyal.

keeps finger stretched ,,,, easy to use and prevents further tendon retraction,,,,,
preventing further damage comfortable to wear ,,, good value vs doctors,,,,

Not very durable
This product works as intended, however it is not very durable. I have what I would consider to be a pretty significantly damaged pinky finger that was dislocated during an exercise. My doctor suggested this type of splint to help ease my ligaments away from the bone, so I can return to the full motion. The version of this splint that I got from the doctor's office lasted many weeks. I even used it during exercise routines including lifting weights and pull ups and it never had any issues. I lost that splint, so instead I ordered this one online. Fast forward two weeks, and the front knuckle pad is separating from the wire, which causes considerable discomfort. Mind you, I haven't gotten this thing wet, I haven't used it while working out. I do "exercise" the pinky by flexing it (contracting/extending finger) with the spring, which I think is the intended function. Anyways, this product isn't durable enough for the price, when it should be worn daily for a long time period, not just a few weeks.
