Size of insert works. A little flimsy. Mail thief pulled on opening really hard. Didn’t get inside but damaged licking mechanism and side of mail slot. Had to order another one. It’s a deterrent, but if someone really wants to get in, they can

Fits standard mailbox but screws location don’t match

The only solution I can find to add a lock to an existing standard mailbox. It can be inserted easily to our mailbox, but the screw positions in the bottom just don’t match the screw positions of our mailbox so that the insert cannot be installed with screws. I ended up buying J-B Weld 8265S to glue the bottom of the insert and the mailbox together. Works pretty well!

Additional security to an unsecured mailbox

The unit is decently built. If you are looking for a high grade secure mailbox, this isn’t it but it is not bad. Yes someone can simply rip the door compartment off or have tiny hands (really tiny) to reach in the mailbox slot but all this will take some time. It down what it is suppose for do, a deterrent and secures mail for the most part. Installation was a little tricky. You have to crest your own template for the holes. I recommend us an 8 x 11 piece of paper. After that , simple drill the holes form under the mailbox and from their the holes will align. Does it’s job.

Product does it’s job

This product is what it is, a deterrent to someone having easy access to your mail. It’s not fool proof. The lock is not heavy duty, it just does its job. You have to drill holes in the bottom of your mailbox to match the per-drilled holes in the insert. If you don’t have the skill or don’t have someone that can drill 4 holes, this is not the product for you. If someone accesses my mail and damages this insert it will alert me to check the camera footage on the camera I have on my mailbox. I also get photos of my mail, daily, from USPS. The ppl that took our mail are currently under arrest and being prosecuted in Federal court.

Great product. Easy to install? It depends.

Ours is not easy to install since our mailbox mounted in different ways. But I strongly recommend this product since it does what it suppose to do. Great buy.

Some of the thinnest gauge metal I've seen

So I decided that rather than spend $72 dollars on this new, I would buy the used version for $36. Thank goodness for that choice! I was flabbergasted at how non-sturdy this thing is. I haven't tried it but I bet money that, even locked, you could yank it open with one hand. Super disappointed in the quality.

Order this and it was half the size of what the manufacturer says in fact you're says it's only 10" long and 2" tall
