It's works perfect as a replacement, what else can I say. Wish the price was lower.

8 year old dog loves it

I have been unable to train my dog not to pee in the house for eight long, long years. After replacing carpet twice I was at my wits end. I heard of the Pet Loo but thought there was no way I could get the dog to use it. But out of desperation, I ordered the system and put it in my guest bathroom which is rarely used. The dog took to it within a month! She's been using it for six months now and only has one or two accidents a month (which is less accidents and more my not paying enough attention to her). The bad news is that it does smell, pretty bad in the bathroom. I've taken to closing the door (dog pushes it open when she needs to go) and running the fan. I wash the whole unit down once a week, and keep a little bleach in the urine collector tray at all times and that helps but isn't perfect. There are some odor eliminating products for the Pet Loo on Amazon, and I'd suggest getting them to see if they work. I would NOT recommend putting this in a place where you don't have easy access to clean the unit or empty the urine collector, as it's difficult to lug around the house, and you don't want to spill concentrated urine as it takes weeks to stop smelling if it say lands on carpet. All in all, I'm thrilled by this product, and after 8 years of frustration with my dog we now no longer fight about her bathroom habits and that makes us both happy enough to forget about the inconvenient smell coming from the guest bathroom. I highly recommend it. BTW, to wash the grass, I throw it all into the bathtub, turn on the shower, and let it run for 20 minutes, does the trick every time.

This Grass Is Much Better Than The Thick Versions Meant For Yards

This grass is much more sparse and thin than that sold in the hardware stores for outdoor lawns. This is not a complaint! Let me explain why ... I have purchased 2 types of grass at the store for my dog's Pet Loo. The grass is thick and luxurious and ....... it holds onto the pee! That means that every few days, the room begins to stink and I have to wash and swap out the grass (because it also holds onto the water too, so it takes a long time to drain). I've had a constant cycle going for almost a year... freshly washed goes outside to dry in the sun, then in comes the dry one onto the Loo. Rinse and repeat. Why oh why did I not buy this PetSafe brand sooner (I had the original Loo but no grass to go with it)? Now I can go 5-6 days without washing this new grass AND I can wash it, give it a shake, and put it right back onto the Loo. I bought just one to see how it would work, figuring I'd buy a second if needed, but it's really not. Just a quick hint for those looking for an easy way to keep the urine catch tray clean. I place an overnight urinary incontinence pad (the pantyliner type made for people) in the tray. Don't pull the backing off that covers the sticky strip on the pad. Just put the whole thing in there as is. They fit perfectly and keep the whole tray clean.

Love the grass because we love the PetLoo!!

Our family has used the same PetSafe PetLoo for 11 years because WE LOVE IT and it’s still in perfect shape! We always keep a second ‘grass’ on hand for when the first one is soiled and this one, from PetLoo is the only one for us - and we’ve only gone through like, four or five over the years. This grass cleans extremely well when done daily - often twice on summer days, as urine can get pretty funky in the heat. Again, flush it daily as you would your own toilet - but with warm water in your shower or tub. Never use harsh chemicals or cleaners. Never soak it (no pee-poop soup!) Just flush with warm water in a tub or shower until we’ll after it rinses clear. A spare bowl-brush is great for scrubbing - and a weekly cleanse with a hypoallergenic dog shampoo keeps things very tidy.

Use to like it

I use to think this was a great potty situation to have especially for apartments, I have 2 tiny Pomeranians and I actually use to recommend this to friends. However, the grass does not last long term, people in apartments are mostly using this, how am I suppose to hose it down to clean it? I figured out a grass cleaning situation but it’s a LOT of work and takes forever, so unfortunately I have to just buy new grass pads. However they’ve since OVER doubled the price of the large one which is ridiculous it’s fake grass for Christ sake. I just ordered my last one to have while I transition my dogs to using a pee pad outside, less expensive, less messy, and less stinky. Not worth the price anymore.

Use one while the other is being cleaned and aired-out.

The original grass is still in use with our “Pet Loo.” We are so pleased with this system. Our dog (Shipoo) seems well trained to it now. The grass drains well and holds up to use. One problem I have with the original grass, and the replacement too, is it’s just a little small. The retaining clips (we got two of them) don’t reach far enough to grip the grass and hold it in place. The grass doesn’t quite come to the edges and “snug-up.” The reason for buying the new grass was to keep one in use while the other is being cleaned and aired out. I use cat-litter and a kitty-litter-scoop with the “Pee Pod liner.” If the clumps are cleaned out every-day or two, it should last a good long time. (Advise you don’t let the litter get low or the dampness will go to the bottom and make a mess.)

Variable quality

We like our pet loo quite a bit, and we like that it comes with a thin and easily permeable turf. However, the replacement turf quality has been hit or miss. I've ordered replacements and only one out of four orders were good quality. Three out of four were attached at an acute angle and the grass lays too flat. This makes moisture sit on top of the turf, both urine and morning dew (we keep ours on a covered outdoor patio). I need to wash my dog's paws frequently when we use these. I notice these lower quality ones also have gaps and the grass are thinned out toward the edges. One of the four turf came with a strong chemical odor, which turned my dog off and took washing to get out. Only one had grass that stood completely vertical and was dense, this one is good quality, dries easily, and I wish all of them were like this. I will be shopping around for a different supplier of turf.

Great product but replacement matt was cut wrong size

Overall i love this system except the replacement matt like some other people found is poorky cut to fit the system. Its about 2 inches to small. Like others the smell wouldnt come out of the matt even with the special enzyme spray. On a hunch and desperate to get rid of the horrible stink of urine I decided to spray the matt clean with my shower hose then I placed it in a pillow case and tied it shut and threw the whole thing in my washing machine. It came out perfect. No shedding or breakdoen of the matt and the smell was completely gone. So this is how we've been doing this and there isn't any odour in our condo. We rotate between teo matts. One being washed and one being used. I'd consider a third if i knew the next one would be cut to fit properly. Either way this is a great tool for people to early train oupoies esp in bad weather and for smaller dogs and dogs in condos. No idea how it would hold out to a large breed adult our labradoodle is still young but he is 20 lbs and it holds up fine

fits the pet loo medium its 23x23 inch

seems overpriced for a bit of fake grass but wanted a second one for clean switches. my cavalier uses medium pet loo on balcony of my condo. easy enough to empty the breadpan size pee container every few days ( to reduce stink). now i can always have a semi clean grass ready to switch up. dog only uses for pee.

A must have for a condo

Our retriever has been using this on our deck on the 25 th floor for two years. It’s a second home and our other home has a huge backyard but he adapted to it right away on the condo deck. I now always have a back up pad because one blew away in a high wind. He wouldn’t use any other temp surface we put on the potty loo so we had to take him out late at night. The new pad came and he immediately relieved himself on the potty loo no more mid nite treks.

Great fit, better than original grass.

I read many reviews that said the fit wasn’t the best too big or too small, this one was exact. The grass is a little more plush and darker green more natural looking grass that original which looked like turf. Very pleased with the purchase.

Cheap synthetic grass

The price keeps increasing and the quality stays the same! Mediocre! I’m just going to purchase a roll of better synthetic grass and cut it myself to save money. Subscription cancelled!
