Die Patronen der Pentair Pentek RFC-Serie bestehen aus einer porösen 70-Mikrometer-Außenhülle aus Polyethylen und langlebigen Endkappen aus Polypropylen. Die Patronen mit einem Außendurchmesser von 2-3⁄4 haben einen Kern aus Polypropylen und die Patronen mit einem Außendurchmesser von 4-1⁄2 verfügen über einen Kern aus gesponnenem Polypropylen. Zwischen der Außenhülle und dem Kern befindet sich ein Bett aus körniger Aktivkohle (GAC). Das einzigartige Radialströmungsdesign bietet die Vorteile der Granulat-Aktivkohlefiltration (GAC), wie z. B. einen geringen Druckabfall, und reduziert gleichzeitig die Freisetzung von Kohlenstofffeinstoffen, die üblicherweise mit GAC-Kartuschen verbunden sind, erheblich. Worked perfect

We live on a farm and use well water. House has not been used in 5 years. This filter is only a month old but clearly doing it’s job. Replacing with another soon.

For my situation it seems to be working well.

I have a well with more iron then I want. I have a water softener and uv filter in line with this. I started out with the pleated type of filter and within a week my water smelled pretty bad, kind of like cat pee. Was not nice taking a shower, I gotta tell you. My well company suggested this one, and for the most part it is working for me fairly well. I've got almost 2 weeks of usage out of it and most days the water does not smell, much, maybe a little like dirt, but very faint. The taste is great and the results, I can live with. I will see how it works over time, but I would expect that in most situations this is a great filter.

Unable to Determine if Correct Size

Description says "fits most." When it arrived, it didn't appear it was correct, and is too expensive to install and be wrong. Poor packing. Filter was partially unwrapped and only item in the giant box.

good but not good enough

I have been using it for 3 days now. Before using this filter the water had some heavy turbidity and red color because too much water was drawn from the well. It did get rid of the red colour (might be iron, might be red silt) but there is still a very pale color and visible turbidity. Not much, but with such an expensive filter one would expect crystal clear water for starters. Since it did not improve over the 3 days I don't think it will get better. I used a no-name filter before this one (had the same problem), which was about 10 dollars cheaper, and that one worked really well. Produced crystal clear water for 4 weeks. Trouble is it is slightly longer than the pentek filter, so the house had to be tightened forcefully and I am worried if I keep to that filter, the threads on the house might break.

*NEW* Lower quality for the same HIGH price!

Really disappointed. I have bought these many times over the years. They were great at first, but the last two I have had have failed - the filter has collapsed on itself. The first time it happened I thought OK, just bad luck. It's happened again, so now I'm going to try a different brand.

Same Product number, but not the same as the old filter

This filter did not seem to be as heavy duty as the previous one and did not seem to have the same carbon components in it. A week or so after I had installed it, I was in our local plumbing supply and asked about the filter. Apparently it has been changed, but the new filter is considerably cheaper than the old one. The one I purchase from Amazon was the newer version, but at the older price. I could have save about $30 buying it locally. Be careful to check this out before buying it.
