Coupled with purpose made ratcheting tiedowns it is quick and easy to secure our kayaks on the car. I do have a friend whose harch on his Subaru is so sensitive to obstructions that he can't make them work in the back. MY kayaks are short so I just tie down the front on mine.

Super nice
First of all they were delivered on time. I was impressed with the material and the way they felt. As you can see in the pictures I already put them to use and couldn’t be happier with them. The catch end is a semi- soft rubber that will do no damage to your hood of back door but sturdy enough to feel confident that they will do their job. I would highly recommend these bad boys if you are needing some.

OK so get this, why spend 29 on another brand...
So long story short. I had a Kayak on top of my car, but I did not strap down the main straps before I took off. I got distracted and it was snug, but not fully tight. I could move the kayak side to side. Well during my 20min drive home, the kayak was held in place in the front by a cord system, and this strap I have mounted in my grille. it works! Don't be fooled in buying a way more expensive "brand name" version of this item. This is sturdy and works as intended. I also like this product because it has a little bit of a long nylon cord than others. All in all a great product, which I'm very thankful for.

Almost melting rubber
It is a decent set, used a few times and it works as intended for a short distances in my experience, yours may vary. A few observations and a main negative point of this product. After driving about 20-25 minutes with tie-downs used I found them to be so hot that the rubber surface is close to a point when it starts melting. It casts doubt on the longevity of these. What would they be after driving for a longer time? Not sure if I want to test that.

Perfect producalt at a good price.
I have used these a few times now ant they work great! I have gone 6 on the highway and they worked great and seem like they will continue to hold up well. Perfect and easy solution to tie down the bow of your kayak if your vehicle doesn't have a good attachment point.

If you carry your kayak on your car roof, you need these
These make attaching lines to secure the bow and stern of a kayak to your car a piece of cake. Shut the bar end in the trunk/hatch lid and the other in the hood and -- voila! -- you have a sturdy attachment for your lines that won't pull loose. I love these things.

Work well, for extra strength put a dowel in or print an insert
Been using these as stabilizers for my back carrier on my sportage. they hook in on the trunk and are solid. If using these for a canoe or something on attached from the roof I would put in dowel inserts. but they work well thank you. I will update this review if there are any issues Update: February-12-2022 I picked up another set of these for my hood, they are very handy to have, I used them for my new canoe, I did find that the straps are a bit long for that, but I may try tying a knot in the loops the shorten them, a pro tip you CAN use these in your door frames in a pinch, I did this bringing my canoe home in a rainy snowstorm, they held perfectly and no water came into the vehicle, the only downside is you cant open your doors without having to retighten things, but I mounted them in the back doors so it wasnt so much an issue. works well in a pinch while I mentioned for extra strength you can put in dowels, I have yet to do so and yet to see any issues. I have used these to tie down a hitch mount bike carrier, and a canoe in very adverse conditions, no issues so far so I still recommend them.

Too stiff
The tube that goes under the hood is super stiff. I would be concerned that it would keep the hood up somewhat on either side of the latch. Also, these require that it be sandwiched between metal...ie. metal hood and metal cross member. If you're using plastic, or your have a car like my son's mazda 3 whose plastic bumper basically meets the hood, then these are not recommended. I guess that with enough pull, they could come loose. I went with a strap loop that bolts just under the hood.

Parfait pour transporter des kayaks en toute sécurité.
Utilisé pour transporter 2 sit-ons de 10 pieds sur un Acura MDX 2019. J'avais l'habitude d'utiliser des supports en J Sportrack sans attacher l'avant et l'arrière des kayaks. Sur une courte distance, c'était OK, mais je ne voulais pas parcourir de longues distances sans sécuriser l'avant et l'arrière des bateaux. J'ai acheté 2 ensembles de 2 sangles d'ancrage (un ensemble par kayak) avec les sangles d'arrimages suivantes: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0951Z7FG4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Les sangles d'ancrage sont faciles à utiliser. On ferme le capot et le coffre arrière dessus, simplement. Pour le capot avant, sur le MDX, je les accote sur la partie la plus près du parebrise pour ne pas qu'elles bougent lorsque je mets dans la tension dans les sangles d'attache. Dans cet arrangement, les kayaks ne bougent pas. J'ai pu parcourir sans inquiétude plus de 200km de routes, incluant de l'autoroute et 40km de route non-pavées. Je n'hésiterai plus à apporter les kayaks, peu importe la distance.

What a life saver!
Neither my vehicle which is a Nissan Rogue or my mother's which is a Nissan Altima have tow hooks or anywhere under the car where we could hook the tie downs for my kayak. We would try and rig something up, but I never felt comfortable with what we had. These make life so much easier. Just put them under the hood of your car or in the trunk and have the loop end hanging out and then you secure your tie downs to it. The large rubber end will not damage your car and makes these nice and secure. Even if you have a place under your vehicle where you can hook your tie downs I would still recommend these because then you're not having to get on the ground to hook things up.

Cheapest ones I can find and work well!
These work just as thye're supposed to, and seem fairly good quality. These were the cheapest ones I could find but the quality is not compromised. The cylinder part is more hard than soft, but I think that's good because I have heard of the squishier ones coming out of the place they're wedged into.
