Favorite storage containers!

I had received a round set as a gift and fell in love with these. I got rid of all my storage dishes and replaced them with these! Highly recommend! They lock and stack so well!

Great for Cooking and Freezing!

**This review is for the: OXO Good Grips 8 Piece SNAP Leakproof Glass Rectangle Food Storage Container Set** I purchased these because of the borosilicate glass. I was looking for a set of containers with a snapping lid that could be used to cook, freeze and store food. I also wanted something I could take straight from the freezer to the oven for meals that had been prepared ahead of time and frozen. It's also nice that any leftovers can be sealed in the container and put back in the fridge for lunch the next day. The lids are very sturdy and I have used these a lot since my purchase 6 months ago. We wash the containers in the dishwasher, with the lids on the top shelf and they still look almost new. I will note that the lids can be difficult to snap into place, but I find that by using the heel of my palm and gently pushing down on the lid while pushing the tab seems to make it easier. This seems to be because the seal needs to be compressed slightly for them to snap properly. We also have a set of Glasslock containers that we've had for a couple of years, but they are not borosilicate glass. You can cook in them, but you couldn't go straight from freezer to oven/microwave. This made them great for cooking and leftovers, but not so great for food we prepared ahead of time. If you're not looking for temperature shock resistance, then you may be better off looking for a non-borosilicate glass as they typically run cheaper. The OXO containers also seem to be a bit more rounded/gradual on the corners and edges, where the Glasslock were more squared. I do find the lids slightly easier to lock on the Glasslock, but that could be due to age and break-in. As others have noted an "8 piece" set means 4 containers and 4 lids. This is a very common convention of marketing for all food storage containers that I have come across, stating "pieces" rather than containers, so I didn't deduct any stars for that. I would say the overall quality is amazing. The lids feel sturdy and seal well, the glass appears free of defects on the set I have. My only real complaint is that the smallest dish in this set is not very useful for me, but the set price is better than buying pieces individually if the other sizes work for you.

Glass is better than plastic

I bought these because I am transitioning away from storing food in plastic. But when I closed the lid on the largest size piece one side of the lid (the flap that folds down) just snapped right off! I kept the set because I didn't want to deal with a return and the other pieces are fine. I use the large size anyway but it is only sealed securely on 3 sides. That's fine as long as I don't take it anywhere and just use it at home.

Flimsy lids.

The lids are sturdy enough all right, but it's kind of hard to align them with the glass. Broke one of the 4 tabs to close in the first week, pay more attention now. But why should I have to?

Love these

These are a winner. I love being able to see the leftovers. One outstanding feature is that they nest inside each other for storage and take up far less space in the shelf than other similar sets. The lids are great as well. I received this set two Christmases ago from my daughter and love it so much I gave it as a gift to someone else and they love it now.

I like this product. The lid broke the second/third time I used this. But OXO replaced it for no cost, and I haven’t had any other problems. I updated my review to give it five stars because they replaced the lid. I do recommend this product.
