Mit der borstenfreien Spiralgrillbürste von OXO Good Grips mit austauschbarem Kopf muss das Aufräumen nach dem Grillen keine lästige Pflicht sein. Just what I wanted

I wanted a good brush that did not have wire bristles to loosen and get into the food. This has a sturdy metal link chain arrangement that won't be going anywhere. The unit is nice, hefty and solid and can be dunked in water to help steam the grill clean too. Additionally, I like the fact I can get new replacement heads for it and can reuse the handle. Another great product from Good Grips.

Good but not perfect

I use a Weber gas grill and a Weber charcoal grill, each have two very different cooking grates, and I’m always looking for the perfect brush that works on both. This Oxo scraper is heavy duty and I can get a lot of pressure on the scraper, and it’s built to last longer than the average thin handled brush. The best fear is the metal cleaning head - like chain link fencing- is bristle free so no random metal pieces ending up on my grates. It works great on the gas grill grates with the thinner bars on the surface - on my gas grill not so much. The wire brush head just doesn’t get deep in between the thick grates … the metal head doesn’t flex enough to get into the thick gas grill grates. This is a quality grill brush but unfortunately it’s not perfect for all grill grates … I’m not giving up on it, and I’m hoping that over time the metal links on the brush head will loosen enough to get a better result on the gas grill.

Works ok, but nothing beats wire brush for cleaniness

The media could not be loaded. This is one of the better non-wire grill cleaning brushes I have used. It cleans better than most and has grooves that can get around the grill bars a bit if it fits your grill. This will work better when dipped in water first and on a hot grill. As there's silicone, I would not recommend brushing on an open flame, but I did it anyway to see. It didn't melt, so I figure if I use it with water it's not so bad and the steam can help with the cleaning. As you can see though, it still doesn't clean as well as with a regular wire brush. It'll get most of the big stuff off, but it won't get it shining to the metal clean. It washes will in the dishwasher although you can still see some of the black on it afterwards. Overall not bad of a product of you don't want to use a wire brush due to risk of loose metal wires in your food.

Coiled Stainless Steel Means No Bristles

The first thing that is noticeable about the OXO Grill Brush is how heavy it is. Yes, it is one hefty utensil! OXO products are the best. They tend to last forever and I hope the grill brush will as well. Technically is this a brush at all? The cleaning surface is made up of a tight stainless steel coiled wire with pleated OXO rubber panels behind it that aid in applying pressure to the grill's surface when cleaning. I actually saw an episode on one of those medical shows where a man got a grill brush bristle lodged in an organ or intestine, he was in intense pain, and was bleeding internally. The doctors could not figure out why. Eventually they spotted the embedded bristle on an x-ray and surgically removed it. I didn't want this to happen to me or my family, so no more wire brushes for me on the grill! This grill cleaner has a long handle with a rubberized handle for easy cleaning on a hot grill, of course you can use it on a cool grill as well, but it's always easier to clean a hot grill. The coils tend to conform to the shape of the grill surface without much effort. For really stubborn grit the full front edge is a scraper to aid in dislodging the stuck on grunge. What really makes this grill cleaner unique is that the head is removable and can be washed in the sink or placed in the dishwasher. OXO sells replacement heads as well. Something to think about down the road. The head fights tightly in place, this grill accessory is well built. It even comes with “OXO's Better Guarantee” in which they will replace the brush or refund your money if you are not satisfied, so why not take the chance.

Worth it!

First, let me just say that I don't think I've ever been disappointed with an OXO product. They just do a better job of engineering and testing their products than other companies. I do want to make mention that the trend away from bristles is a good one. As someone who has gotten a metal bristle lodged in my throat, it's a terrifying experience that I will never repeat. With that said, I appreciate the design and materials used in this grill scraper. Here are my thoughts after having a chance to use it: *Solid, heavy (but not too heavy) and feels good in the hand. *Long enough to keep my hand (and arm hair, yes - gross) away from the intense heat. I have a few grills and will get some screaming hot charcoal fires going for my burgers and steaks. I really like the size of this scraper. *The stainless steel is something that I can effectively clean....this is important to me. Being able to hand wash (or even throw this into the dishwasher), is fantastic. *This has a steel hook for hanging.....definitely better than the little rope that my old scraper has. *The cleaning head itself is well designed. From the use of the steel coils (that resemble chain mail) and silicone grooves that align to standard grill grates, this scraper definitely works. While I got this item free of charge thru the Vine Review program, it is worth the list price of $35. I will be getting a couple of these to give away as gifts this year. I love when I stumble upon a product that is this good. This grill scraper is effective, durable, easy to use....and worth the extra couple dollars this may cost. Well done, OXO.
