Scoops food

Measurement is accurate but when you push the lever it feels like it gets stuck on something. It's not a smooth motion. Every few clicks it catches.

I cannot rave enough about this scoop! It’s durable, dishwasher safe and the perfect portion for many uses. Chicken salad, large cookies, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and many others.

Just like mom’s except it broke

My mom had her scoop before I was born and kept it well into my adulthood and this one is similar and likely to last too! Several trips through the dishwasher and no pitting or weird discolorations like other scoops. We use it for ice cream and just warm it under some hot water for a few seconds for ease of scooping. The ice cream release easily from the scoop with a simple push of the lever. Update: the release wire disconnected from the top of the scoop in some particularly hard ice cream. The seller was excellent and promptly replaced the scoop, but it has the same manufacturing issue; the “pin” on the wire that fits through the top hole in the scoop slides in and out too easily. We heated the pin and pounded it flat on the end with a little ingenuity and now it is more like mom’s old scoop=sturdier.

Mechanism jams

I bought this scoop to measure batter for baking ( cupcakes, etc). The mechanism frequently jammed when the scoop was filled with thick batter. I was able to cleanly dispense the batter using a narrow rubber spatula, but that isn’t how it’s supposed to work. The round shape of the scoop is better for dispensing batter than a measuring cup though, so with the spatula work-around, it’s still an improvement.

I love this scoop. It is the perfect size for scooping cookie dough.???? I bought a larger one from same company for scooping mashed potatoes etc more then 2 years ago,use it nearly every day.Excellent quality. You can prob find a less expensive scoop however this one’s the real deal ????

Be Sure To Know Exactly What The Sizes Mean

This is a fine little scoop. I would highly recommend that Amazon ask sellers to add a scoop size guide with the scoops they're selling. I saw the size of the scooped cookie dough that was shown along with the scoop and thought that it would serve very well, as that and using it to scoop muffin batter into baking pans was my reason for buying one. It is not the best size, as it takes one and a half scoops of batter for the correct amount. The one I bought is a #40. Other than the size, it's a good, sturdy scoop. It would be okay for making small cookies and mini muffins.

Works so much better than the one I bought before (Oxo)

I purchased an Oxo brand disher before from a store expecting it to be high quality. It acted like it was defective because it wouldn't dispense the dough properly. This one works much better. I highly recommend and if I decide to buy a difference size I will come back to this brand.
