Great machine with a few small cons

The media could not be loaded. I’ll keep it short and sweet. Do I think this unit was worth what I spent: Yes Does it work: Yes, and it works well! Would I recommend this to a friend: Sure, but I would make sure I mentioned any frustrations I might have with the unit. FRUSTRATIONS/CONS: The unit is awkward in regards to the hose storage. There is also the issue of not really having anywhere to have your unit “hold” the wand in storage. You just lay it down on the ground until you’re done then disassemble the wand in order to store it, rather than an upright “click into place” type, if that makes sense? Other than that… BENEFITS/PROS: The run time is great! I can hold that trigger down non stop for a really long time and that is such a benefit to cleaning. I don’t have to wait for any reheating up while I’m cleaning or refills because of its large reservoir. It’s hot! The water temperature coming out does a great job of loosening up grout dirt (my primary use for the machine so far) and lifting years and years of grime. Plus, the fact that no chemicals are used to deep clean and disinfect is a huge plus in a household with pets and children. My next project will be cleaning out the oven with this. I’ll update with my experience.

Not too bad

I bought this for detailing. Obviously it's not the best thing you can buy for detailing. It's actually more medium to heavy-duty household cleaning. However, if you zip tie a microfiber rag around the green scrubber heads, it works pretty decent. The pressure is pretty weak compared to serious units, however, i was surprised by how well it cleans. It works. The boiler gets the water pretty hot; hot enough to hurt you. Doesn't seem like it will burn the hell out of you, but it does get pretty hot. Well, then again, I suppose it could burn the hell of of you under the right circumstances. I cleaned something above my head and the water dripped on my face. Stupid right. Kinda didn't have a choice. Well. It didn't leave a burn, but it sure stung pretty good, like getting splashed by a pot of boiling water. Make sure the pressure know is turned all the way to the plus for max heat and pressure. At first, i didnt realize it was turned allbthebway down when infirst used it. I was pissed. It will justbdrip and barely get hot. Then i realized i didnt turn it up all the away. Takes about 15 minutes for the gauge to hit green, but when it does, you'd be surprised how long you can steam before needing to refill: a solid 30 to 40 minutes of steam. Not bad. What sucks is, it's not a continuous refill unit, so you need to turn it off to add more water, and to let the pressure die down before opening the cap. If you don't wait for it to cool down before adding more water, as soon as you begin to pour more, it will spit right back up in your face like a geyser. Use caution or wait like 5 minutes. Overall, it's pretty useful. For now until I upgrade to an all in one steam/vac/shampoo unit, this will get the job done . It needs a long skinny extension wand for tight areas. That would be great especially when cleaning engines. Definitely great for around the house. Haven't used all the other attachments or brushes yet to know for sure, but I initially tested it out on a greasy garage wall/door with no chemicals. Blew my mind. Its a good buy. Seems like it'll last too.

Great steamer with a few minor problems

Works Great has a long run time. So far I’ve used it once and other reviews are accurate it does spit some water on first use and each time you use it after it sits but this clears up in a few seconds just have to be mindful depending on what and where you’re using it. I was using it for car detailing so I just stuck it out the door squeezed the trigger for a few seconds then it was ready to go. I’m glad I chose the larger capacity model since refilling is another minor concern and takes time and proper technique.

Lightweight But a Workhorse!

Ok, there are many folks who dislike the plastic construction for this steamer but I find that to be a big plus in terms of the weight of this wonderful unit. Makes it easy to carry around and use. I’m 68 and used to mop our 3000 sf of stone, porcelain and LVP flooring with an industrial mop bucket that had an integrated secondary rinse bucket and heavy duty fiberglass mop handle with microfiber mop head. Massive core workout which I didn’t use to mind. But I can’t do that anymore and my wife and I are so happy to have this industrial strength floor steamer to do all of the muscle work for us; no need to apply any force against the floor. I use high steam for our porcelain planks, medium steam for the stone and low steam for the LVP. You can definitely use this machine on LVP with the low setting; the vinyl doesn’t even get very hot. Overall, the MC1385 is a major winner. And I haven’t even yet used the incredible assortment of attachments on my BBQ grill!!! Next week ….

WAIT! BEFORE YOU BUY THIS!!

This is a great product, DEPENDING on the application. For most indoors, like cleaning your stovetop, grout / tile floors, fabric like curtains etc, yes, this is what you want. For inside the shower, or anything outdoors like a patio or driveway or anywhere else that can handle getting blasted, I'd highly recommend you get a HIGH PRESSURE steam cleaner, or a pressure washer. This product will loosen and lift the dirt right out of your grout or off the surface like magic, but you still have to wipe or spray the grime away. This will not BLAST the dirt away like a high pressure machine will. So it's ideal for indoors, but anywhere that can handle heavy wetness, I'd spend the same or less money on something that's going to do all the work for me, while cutting the time in half. For what it is, this steam cleaner works great. It holds plenty of water, heats up fast and comes with more attachments than you'll know what to do with. I'm satisfied, but for my shower and outdoor patio, I wish I'd gone with a high pressure machine.

The unit works like a charm and cleans very well. Steam jet is powerful and does miracles on otherwise impossible areas to reach. Suggestion: Carry a small and large size paint brushes (never used for painting) to reach those difficult or impossible to reach places. Wipe those with the paint brushes to finish removing what the vapor so nicely made soft and easy to remove with the aid of a paintbrush. High quality design and tons of nice and useful accessories. Superb packaging reflects manufacturer pride in offering their very best down to the last detail. Again a perfect score for ‘Next Day Delivery’ by Amazon and its partners that accomplish this Olympic performance from the shelf to your smiling face in 24 hours or less.

WARNING! Not Worth Your Hard Earned Money!

I purchased 2 McCulloch steam cleaners. One for myself and one for my Mother, after we were in a car crash and left us both with life long injuries. We were hoping that this machine would make cleaning a bathroom much easier for us. Right from the beginning, the parts were constantly falling apart. The wheels kept falling off. It is VERY tippy and falls over constantly. The extension poles break, leak hot steam and the inner steam poles fall out and disconnect. The buttons fall off the extension poles as well and can not be fixed. The mop heads break very quickly, as they are so poorly made. They are also rounded at the corners edges, which means it will not clean corners in your rooms. We have tried to mend the accessories ourselves and use "kid-gloves" when using them in case they deteriorate even more. We are gentle users and the accessories are breaking within less than a couple hours of use. No value what-so-ever. When our steamers were under warranty, McCulloch just kept sending us new parts on a regular basis, without question. They know that their product is junk and they just kept replacing everything. I will say, the brush attachments have lasted - these are the items which SHOULD be expected to be replaced with constant use and from the extreme heat from the steam. Now that the warranty is off, we are stuck with a useless machine. Parts are very cheaply priced, but the company is American, and by the time you pay the conversion, duty, taxes and shipping, you are just throwing good money after bad if you pay to replace the parts. We are both extremely unsatisfied. I have recently purchased a professional commercial grade steam cleaner used by professional cleaning companies, even though it was very pricey, it was well worth the investment. I wish I knew of the DUPRAY Tosca steam cleaner sooner - plus they are a Canadian company. Please be aware, you get what you pay for. The McCulloch looks sleek and high tech, but it is plastic and cheap, and in no way built to last very long. After your warranty is up, McCulloch no longer supports their junky product. Buyer BEWARE!

Nothing speacial!!!

Works okay. But I expected it to work a lot better. Works great on counters and in the bathroom. I bought this thinking I could clean my bbq with it, but it couldn't even handle the outside of it. Doesn't work very good on grease. Don't buy this if you think it will save time. It task basicly takes twice the time to clean everything. The jet attachment is a joke and doesn't work very well. The steam isn't really that hot when using the jet attachment I can put my bare hand a inch away from it no problem. I paid almost 300 for this in canada and think it's only worth maybe 175. It only works good on light messes.
